Sorry for the long introduction, if you like you can skip to the bottom where I have several questions.
Hello! I smoked pot back in HS and some in college. I quit because it kinda bored me. If I smoked I wanted someone to enjoy it with me and have fun. The last few times I did it I just didn't have fun. So I quit.
Now I have been married 13 years, two kids, and n o real interest in anything illegal at all. I work at an ER and my experience there is that alcohol is one of the most destructive legal drugs available to people. It harms not only the health of the person drinking, but also the safety of those around them. Marijuana on the other hand has gotten such a horribly bad rap and for reasons I can't understand. I know its money related, but how everyone was fooled into thinking this was such an evil drug is beyond me. Way safer than alcohol.
Two years ago my wife was diagnosed with MS. I had heard it lessened the symptoms, pain, spasms, nausea, etc... At the time she wasn't having symptoms enough to warrant us getting hooked up. She has never been drunk, never used drugs, and never smoked as much as a cigarette. These days she is having pain, depression, spasms, and nausea. It's time to convince her to try this drug. It took a lot of explaining that she isn't just willfully breaking the law for fun, but that this is a medicine that can help. She agreed to try it.
I started doing more research to put her mind at ease about taking this treatment. I found out that in recent studies it not only helps the symptoms, which should be obvious to a retarded monkey, but that it actually slow the progression of the disease itself. Had I known this she would have been on it the whole time. Screw the law, saving my wife's life means more to me that obeying laws passed without thinking. We have had trouble slowing MS's progression and brains scans show (as quoted by the doctor) "Alarming amount of deterioration.
So now that I know this can slow it down I have put my mind to aeroponics. I have been reading many different articles, watching videos, and joined this forum as a source of support in my endeavor. After reading what I have thus far I know it will be a while before I actually start this project. I like to be armed with a good bit of knowledge before tossing good money out the window.
I have a spot picked out for my grow room. I have an area 4 foot by 7 foot by 7 foot tall. I plan on building walled enclosures, Mylar lining, and aeroponic set up. I am still planning out the rest, but have much to learn before deciding what direction to go.
Anyway sorry for the long read, just wanted to introduce myself and say hi!
Questions:
1:
I plan to make honey via butane extraction. Do you feel that I will get as much out of it that was as if it were smoked? Or is there a lot lost in the process? I am sure I will not talk my wife into smoking it; she wouldnt be able to tolerate it I am sure.
2:
I know honey can be smoked, but if it is ingested is it ready to go as is? Or does it need to be mixed with a fatty type substance to get it activated? I have heard you can use fire, or fat, but I have not heard of honey before recently and just need to know can I just use that straight.
3:
Can't I mix the honey into a bit of alcohol to make a tincture? Or is it really two different things?
4:
Can I mix honey into melted butter to make cannabutter, or do I actually need to cook the plant material into the butter and go through the traditional process of making cannabutter?
Thanks!
