Help a noob! Leaves started yellowing from the bottom up!

First post on this forum. Bit high so syntax probably isn't great bongsmilie. Having some trouble with my first proper(ish) grow - the leaves on my Double Berry are starting to yellow from the bottom up, as can be seen in the photos. How do I go about solving this issue?
If this is a nutrient issue I have some general purpose fertilizer I was using on chilies which might work... :dunce:

I fimmed the plant last week, it's shaping up pretty well.

Cardboard box grow, 1 square foot of space, 65W 6400K cfl, kept cool with a cpu cooler fan. I'm using some mediocre compost and perlite as my growing medium, same as what I'm using for chilies at the moment. Using a 1 litre ice cream container as a pot. I know it's not ideal but I'm only a poor student!

Any help would be much appreciated!

I'd like to get this sorted quickly before any further deterioration occurs.

If that ice cream pot lets any light get to your soil you might end up growing algae in your soil. I had a white pot that evidently did not block out all light- ended up with algae growing in the soil inside the pot on the side that got the most sun.

The ice cream pot attenuates the light around it pretty well, the label is very thick and doesn't let any light through, it's the only thing I had to hand!

Sounds about right - the fertiliser I have is 24-8-16 if that helps. I'll feed my plant next time I water.
The NPK ratio of that fertilizer is 3-1-2 which many say is the perfect ratiofor vegetation. Sounds like MG General Purpose.. You can't go wrong with a balanced fert like 10-10-10 or 20-20-20 either. When you switch to flower you might want to bump up the K, but don't deprive them of N or the yellowing will show reappear with a vengeance.

Fair enough. Thanks for the advice. I applied it 3 days ago now - the yellowing seems to have stayed as it is, but not got any better.

Will the yellow leaves at the bottom go green again or should I take them off?
