I live in the uk and although its only £20 per 1/8, sometimes, you get ripped off a gram or something like that. I picked up what people around my are would call a 'Fat Eighth' (meaning its more like 4g than 3.5g). I was wondering has anyone got any pictures of what 3.5g looks like exactly?

Many thanks k0b0g

agreed, what if the bud is fluffy, and not dense. this will affect weight and appearance. the only way to be sure is to buy a nice scale. I got a really accurate digi for like 20$. GOOD LUCK.

fuck a digi.
have a good hand scale that you trust and a sandwich bag that you know the exact weight of.
then as soon as the kid hands you the bag, dump it into your bag and weigh it.

this is cheap and small and easy to carry.

Wow dude. + rep for havin the balls to ask that question.

I'll be nice. Hope this helps.

WHEN I WAS A NUBIE, (they did not have cheap scales then)
The GENERAL rule of thumb, for your AVERAGE weed goes like this.

Get your AVERAGE sandwhich baggie, and use the 4 fingers from your hand.
1 finger width from side is ROUGHLY 3.5G

2 Fingers is 7g or 1/4oz

4 fingers is a half oz or 14g

and so on.

NOW.......this rule doesn't work if your bud is very dense or wet. nor does it work if it's very dryor fluffy.

If your friends are saying that bag is a "FAT EIGHTH" it likely means the 3.5g of pot your getting looks like more like 4 or 5 grams. but in actuality it's still just 3.5g.

Just start playin with a scale, you'll be able to eye up your weights pretty good after a while.
