Help Automating Watering In Vert Grow

First thanks for taking the time to read my thread.

I have a vert setup that I have just finished my first grow in. I had like 12 plants in there and watering was a bitch.

This next round I am adding another shelf and also flowering close to double the plants. So watering is going to suck even more.

I am looking to create a drip system of sorts, but don't really know where to start. Right now I mix all my nutes in a large res about 40gallons. I fill a container using a sub pump and water each plant individually with that container.

I want to just be able to mix up my nutes in the res, connect a pump, plug it in, and have my ladies get their water. Then shut the pump off when they are done getting water.

How should I do this?

I am thinking maybe having two pumps, one for the bottom shelf and one for the top shelf since the pump will pump less water up to the top shelf.

Will the pumps give each plant the same amount of water if I have a 1/4" tubing coming off the pump going down to small lines that go to each plant if I have the end of the 1/4" piece sealed? (I don't know if that makes sense, I took so excedrin pm and I'm stoned.) Or will I need drip emitters to do that?

Any tips on how to do this? I am growing in soil, so this only needs to be done like 2 to 3 times a week.

Any help is appreciated
Bob

I hope you find an answer because I sure would like to know too. Have you watched "I grow chronic" video? He has a neat little drip system but he's growing hydroponic and not sure would work for growing in soil.

Thanks for the link.

The only problem I am having is the fact that I am going to be using a sub pump not a faucet or hose. I don't know if blocking off the end of the hose is going to ruin the pump. Or if I am only letting like 2gph out of each dripper on 21plants, this is only 42gph and my pump is rated for like 300gph. Is this going to be a problem?
