Help! Can you put your plant to close to light if temps are 70's?

This is a hot day. temps will be 72 average. (I will be adjusting to 76)

If I am air-cooled, temps are 77 degrees at 5 inches from the bottom of 2 1000 watt HPS hood glass, will this hurt my buds.

If temps are 80 and under do I have to worry about how close they are to the bottom of the glass?

use the back of ya hand ,if you cant hold it there for 30 secs its to hot

Well, I can keep my hand on the bottom of the glass forever with out getting hot...? so what does that mean?

worry anyway. My first grow in wonter my temps were fine but I light bleeched my buds pretty bad. Cant reverse that. Bleeches out all the color. So at least 8 inchs I guess.

light intensity play a large factor aswell. some buds will get all strange and stuff
