Help! Cant Upload Camera Pictures.

I have some photos that were taken straight off my Nikon and dragged over to my computers folders. Unfortunately when i try to upload them it wont let me. Im currently trying this in a chat forum to show someone a picture. The file im using is a .jpg

When i try it says

The following error occurred
There was a problem uploading your file..

Do I need to change the file size or file type? What Size/Types are compatible with RIU ?

It is either your file size is too big
Or while downloading on a slow connection it takes too long and times out

There big files. I figured out if i make the aspect ratio 16x9 using windows 10s editor it shrinks the filesize and it works. For the actual size im not to sure my camera just says small. med. And Large. I believe i seen 6000x4000 or something like that which is around 13 mb. I noticed the 10mb max while uploading. Thanks for the quick responce. Ill shoot using a medium size next time.
