Help!!! CFL bulbs over heating!!

Help!!! I have constructed a dresser over the last few weeks. It consists of 3 100w CFL bulbs and 3 computer fans. I am having trouble with my #3 CFL over heating. It will work for about 6 hours and then turn it's self off for around a hour an then it just flickers and dies again. I have thought about reducing my bulbs wattage. Will this solve my problem??? Is there any ideas out there??

Are they dimmable? What's your temp?

The bulbs are not dimmibal, I don't know what the temp is in there I will put in a thermostat and post later.

High temps will cause CFLs to fail. You need strong airflow out of box and a nice current over the bulbs to keep them cool.

Just buy another bulb.......or exchange it.....get your money back!It sounds like a defective bulb.....I've had a few myself.

Okay pics would help. I would also suggest putting a fan inside to move air. I'm running around 318 watts in a 2'6"x1'6"x3'7". I had fan problems and temps went above 100 for about 3-4hrs and stayed above 97 until lights went off with no bulb failure. I have 23and 42 Watt bulbs.

So its weird that your bulbs go out. Must get hot as hell in your cab

It doesn't sound like he has an intake and exhaust setup. CFLs will overheat a small area no prob. Not good for bulbs and not good for plant.

Amazing! I can't get any answers about bananas on a plant of mine, but a guy has a flickering light bulb and he gets answers. Hilarious.

Dude, In order for it to get hot enough to cause a cfl ballast to overheat, your plants would be toast. The fact that only one out of three is doing this should tell you its a defective bulb, or a bad connection where the base screws into the receptacle.

No offense intended toward the OP.

Temps aren't the problem and I have a intake and two exhaust fans. It didn't get over 70ish in my box. I have a lower wattage light bulb in now and It seems to work better.

Fans lights whole thing I don't think I have a exhaust problem?
