One more question brother Cobkits, for a 100x100cm tent, would you say 6x 60 watt luminus cxm22 are enough or rather do 8x of the single cobs?

im not quite sure what you mean by 'single cobs' as pretty much all cobs are "single cobs"
again,the larger drivers are more efficient. you'll get the same amount of light for less energy input (or more light for same energy input)
the luminus at 60W are pretty efficient, 100cm x 100 cm would be fine. 8@45W each would be even more efficient. depends on your budget

Hi! So the luminus cxm22 are more efficient than the cxb3590 3500°k DB??? Sorry I was on another planet since 2 years so I wonder if my cxb3590 3500°k @1400mA are still good enough(I guess they are 164lm/w @1400mA)
But I saw the Samsung QB288 who are looking very attractive! I think it is made for 2x2(60cmx60cm for my EU neighbours
) so I would like to know the qb size cause i love how it spread the light very evenly above the canopy!!!
I remember asked Growmau5 supraspl and a few others when I DIY my cxb3590 if it wasn't possible to use multiple diodes at low current on a heatsink the size of the box...they told me :too much soldering and work and the small diodes wasn't as efficient as it is now!!! But now I guess it is possible!!!
I am going to wait a little before switch to Samsung because I am very happy with my Cree since I pull 1.3/1.4gpw on average in 110 days from seeds to harvest!(I should start by adding a bit of red during bloom!)
Have a lifted one and lots of good vibes from France growers!!!

you can simply hang your COB's in 2 parallel rows to one driver so they only work with ~24w. So you come in the range of ~180lm/w. You take a few 4ft. double row F-strips from Samsung they also have 288 LM561c diodes like the QB V1 but cost only $50. So you can continue to use the "old" COB's and need less new LED's for an upgrade. That's what I've done with my 150w veg light.
These was before upgrade:
And that's how it looks like now:
It's a mix of the six "old" CXA2540/3500°k/CRI 80 COB's(maybe 10k hours), 6 new Samsung single row F-strips and 6 1850°k strips. And before you ask, the G23 socket in the center is for an 11w UVB reptile bulb. (..but I'll change it against a more powerful 24w T5)

It's not much of a difference. Both are probably in the range of 2,5-2,6μMol/J at 50-60w. The luminus ones are 50v COB's and the CXB's are 35v thats the only difference but CXM22 is cheaper and if you take the difference to get more of them they become indeed more efficient.

Correct! But in the same vid you can see a HLG-185H-1400A to drive the 4 COB's on the bar in once. A version allows 50-108% dimming via build-in poti HLG-185H-1400B has two separate dimmer wires for an 100k potentiometer(or PWM or 1-10v dimming) and allows dimming down to 6-10%. It is also 4% more efficient like 4 HBG-60-1050 and you can get them for ~55$ shipped. It's cheaper, more efficient and easier to wire and the round heatsinks could be mounted to a frame to create a more stable 225w fixture.
A CXB3590 at 1050mA is by the way only 37w you would need the 1400mA version for CXB's(50w). 1750mA version if one exsist has probably not enough voltage. 60w : 1,75A = 34,3v and a CXB needs at least 35v or more at 1750mA. A CXM22 would match much better with a HBG-60-1050...

Alright, sounds good too....thank you for your input! I really don't wanna frame the cobs though.....you know i like the thought of being even more flexible with the single lights. Just smarter for my situation, got to stay flexible you know.

You could slightly longer wires between the COB's to keep that flexibillity. Such a frame is not a must have..
