Some people learn to swim better by being tossed in the deep end and some need rescue. Don't know until you try. :)

I respectfully disagree. If you can't do at least basic research before attempting yo learn a new skill you should pretty much expect bad results. Some people are better hands on learners, I get that, but even then some studying should be done of you expect success

So I'm not totally new. I grew autos from seed in a very similar set up about 8 months ago and it went great! Didn't oh at all and just stuck to basic nutrients. Then this last summer I grew 4 plants outdoors, also from seed starts, and got an average of a pound a piece off of them. It's not that I didn't research, just that I didn't think all the overthinking was necessary. I guess clones just take a little more tlc. Thanks for the comments guys!

It's not about overthinking.. my first attempt at hydro is teaching me that with certain types of growing you have to get into certain routines. With any kind of hydro you have to check pH, EC/PPM, and water temp regularly. It's not hard or time consuming, and if there is an issue it is easy to correct and changes take hold quickly. Growing in any non soil medium requires attention to detail and diligence. If you get into good habits it becomes easy. Again, these aren't things I'm saying to be a jerk. If you spend 10 minutes every day just checking those 3 variables (pH ppm and water temp) your grow will be so much easier.

I found a great spot to download FREE POT BOOKS I downloaded Jorge Cervantes Grow basics books and getting some more. No web site but just a page of links. Just right click on what you want and then "Save Link As" to download. They got lots. Book looks great and complete like the real one.

Thanks for the link, some great reading now that it's -20 here lol. I just read a couple of paragraphs from a few and yup a few articles/books do perpetuate the same old myths. God help a newb trying to differentiate from the good, bad and ugly :(. Forum myth for the most part comes from reading these things. My pick for first reads would Robert Clark for basic understanding then move on lol. Thanks again OMU!
