Help cloning

Bag's off. Looks like yours never had a dome on to begin with? Maybe adding a small fan is a good idea?

@dbdweller
Im under 3000 and feeling even lower watching them die :(
Does heat coming in from the side have the same effect as heat from underneath?

just checked and a few seem to have root rot… really wasn't expecting that when all the water came in from the top.
No heat from the side is not the same. the heating pad helps the roots, coming from the side just effects the leaves
Yes if you can pull the top off the plant very easy then she is gone.
You were asked if you had a dome? That helps greatly. You can adjust the air intake on the top. The water you are using, has it been sitting in a container for a long time? Which would put it low on oxygen.

Hmm maybe the side heating is what crisped up the leaves… it was only around 75 degrees which many people seem to think is a good idea but maybe 75 really just is too high.

Dome and heats gone for now so maybe they will dry out and recover but I'm not holding my breath. Will update tomorrow if it helped. thanks for all the suggestions.

(not sure about the dwc guy though… that seems like overwatering to me?)

Oh yes they are deferentially saturated right now. Root rot is your tell tale sign if some of them have it.. Clones walk a fine line and depending on how much you mist them and how many times can be a killer. They do not have a good return rate because they have so little roots and leaves that are not up to par yet to take in sun light.
Someone with not a lot of grows( not hating in any way, we were all there once) has a tendency to spoil your girls. So sometimes more is bad you could say. that is why i always tell them to just go and stare at them. Fight the urge to clip and so. Your breathing on them with the co2 is very very good.

Could the leaf curling have been caused by too much light? It didn't seem to start so much until the cfl was added… but 1 23 watt cfl 5 days into cloning doesn't seem very extreme

OK. Thanks for everything so far. Prepping for a fresh start and i want to make sure I've got everything right this time.

Heat under yes.
Heat the air around no (maybe this messed up the leaves) (so don't worry about keeping temps as high as 75, maybe closer to 65-70)
Wet once in the beginning and do not try to maintain a humidity level above 70 (i.e. spraying every few hours)
Add aqua shield to water from the beginning.
Cover the root plugs so they don't get direct light

Still unsure of what caused the combination of root water damage and crisping of leaves. Almost seems like a paradox.
Still unsure if there should be any light at all.
Also unsure if the level of development of the branches played a part.

A lot depends on location and everything else.
Yes the roots NEVER want to see the sun. So as little as possible.
The crisp leaves are most likely heat. They breath underneath the pedal and burn there moisture on top. Not for sure of course but the normal trade mark when it's not dialed in.
Temps:
They like the heat but not the high humidity. Ball park 75-85 with approx 75% humidity. and veg 68-85 about 65 % hum Now this is for you under 3000ft right?
Clones and seedlings like it a little higher and that is what helps you regulate hum once it's dialed in. Once you go to flower if you want to dial it in better you slowly drop the temps till the last few weeks your at 55 -65 with 45-55% humidity. But of course this is one way of many to accomplish the harvest. Depends a lot on strains.

Once your girl has developed roots, (Thats why she is in the dark at first and you tip cut the leaves) you want more light time. Not more watts you could do fine with a 5watt cfl.

Back your light way off keep it on, but use it passively several feet away. You dont need to keep spraying clones Use the peat puck, set the bag over it don't mist. the moisture in the pucks or riots will be enough. take the bag off every once in a while for the first few days then they should be on their way to recovering and you can take the bags off. Using a heater is a mistake you heated and then got too moist. root rot and mold killed you IMO.

I agree with everything he said to try to save the ones you have now. The ones with center rot are gone, no saving those.
But i know if you can not keep the temps up for future clones the heating pad works very well for a lot of growers. Its not directly under the tray but with something between it. This being winter for most places its the easiest and most reliable with out having a machine.
Please keep in mind this is just my opinion and what works for me. Someone else has something different that works for them. that's what this is all about, finding out what works best and dialing it in.
