Previously, I had a 125w CFL hanging straight down, and after reading on here about distance to the the bud tops, I realized that 80% of the bulb was 5 inches or more from the buds - ie wasted light.
To work around this problem, I just purchased a small batwing reflector for my 125w CFL, which looks more or less like this:
I've got it all wired up and it works fine.
I now have the reflected CFL hanging on two chains from the closet rail (it is a closet grow).
Since the ballasted CFL weighs so much, I'm fearful of accidentally dropping it when I am changing the chain length (to adjust light height).
Have any of you handy DIY growers rigged up a pulley system to make height adjustment easier?
I don't have much handyman experience so I need someone to tell me what hardware pieces to buy so I can rig it up.
Thanks in advance!
