HELP dying transplants for a newbie!

Hello

I have had a few grows under my belt and have 1 really successful hydro grow before. Im having some serious issues with these two Platinoom Koosh clones though.

They came in rockwool and had some roots growing out of the cubies, so I dropped them on top of some Hydroton, covered them up to their necks with more rocks, and they are on a feeding cycle of 1/4 strength GH Gro and I mist them at night once with Micro that is diluted to 1/8 strength (I recently stopped doing this, it wasnt helping).

The Set-up:

Strain: Platinum Koosh
Res Temp: 76 :???:
Ambient Temp: 74
Nutes: 1/4 strength GH Floragro and 1/8 GH Micro (foliar spray)
Lights: 8 HO T5 Hydrofarm Ballast on 18/6 2' from plant tops
Plant Age: Clones so no idea but probably around 3 weeks
PH: ~6
PPM: 500
Water: PH corrected tap with apple cider vinegar. The water is a bit hard (200 PPM) with a PH of 7.

They looked ok when I got them, but now they are showing crows feet and are drooping quite a bit. I pulled back on watering them via drip for 30 min every 4 hours to twice daily. The reason I was doing foliar spray was because there was no noticeable root development and I still wanted them to get their food!

How do the roots look? Nice and white? B sure they're not jus floating in water as that's what it kindda looks like.

No, they are still in the basket. I sat the rockwool cube on top of an inch of hydroton, the water drips from the top down onto the roots, then the rock, then falls into the res.

Roots are white, a little bit tan, but Ive heard that is from the Micro which is kind of red.

So you think they might be overwatered? The cube was pretty soaked all the time until I cut back on the watering cycle :spew:

overwatering can always make leaves droopy so can early stages of root rot and root bound in soil, I can't tell without seeing the roots however make sure roots get no light, don't overwater, exchange air periodically, keep the reservoir temp steady. Honestly that's why I like soil much better, not that it's better, it's just much more forgiving than hydro where things could change overnight for better or worse. good luck.

Hey Superstoner1,

The leaves are drooping to the point where they are now touching the main stem. Almost like an upside down U

So should I just wait until the Rockwool dries up? I dont want my roots to die but I also have no idea how long that takes. They are just directly exposed to the Hydroton ATM.

Thanks for all the advice!
