Help! First Attempt at Germinating

What’s up guys, so I decided to germinate some seeds to have some plants ready for my new tent. I’ve succeeded in getting 4 out of the 5 to germinate successfully that have cotyledons and seem like they have a chance. I currently have them under a 450w led at 16 inches away. I water by spray bottle with PH’d water @ 5.8.Is it to early for the led? I set the bloom switch off so it’s only on veg mode. I read that bluer light on the spectrum is better for seedlings. I also am curious as to how long they should stay under if so. You see a lot of conflicting opinions on whether to keep it 24/0 or 18/6, etc. Is there anything else I should/should not be doing?

I was asking same question. There’s a multiple threads in this same topic u can reference. I’m a beginner too and I kept mine at 18/6 with humidifier running constantly 60-80rh. I try to keep temp between 70-80, I read 74 is sweet spot. Mine are 4-5 days since I placed in soil. I have an led full spectrum light and had it really close at first probably 4-6in 50% dimmed, then I pulled it up after they popped out soil n they started stretching so I lowered back to around 6-8in, then leaves started to droop so I put it back up to 12in increased dimmer to 65%

Is that the only light you have? You will need more coverage for all those plants once they get bigger.
With that type of light I would flip both veg & bloom on always, and give them 24/0 or 20/4 light schedule.
Definitely going to want more light on them asap. More light = more growth.
More growth in veg.. makes for a better yield.

Gotcha, luckily it’s the smallest light I have I have 2 1200w LEDs ready to go in my new tent next grow. Just figured that the smaller the least likely I am to kill the seedling.

I think once they are all fully popped I’ll switch to 18/6 all I had for medium was 70% coco 30% perlite mix. Definitely switching both settings on though unfortunately I can’t dim these it’s on or off

You should be good for now. I'd save those other lights for when you transplant, and the plants are more spread out.
You can add them to the tent as more coverage is needed.
Maybe even throw the 1200 in there when you transplant.. and add the 2nd 1200 when you are ready to flip.

Make sure to never let coco dry out. It always has to be moist.

Right now my other 1200 is being used for my current 2x2 grow, just a single plant. Currently she’s week 6 into flower. This is kind of a test run with this clear tent that I found in my basement. Hoping I can atleast make it my veg tent or something.

That's cool if you're just vegging with it.
You say the tent is clear? do you have anything bright white you can lean up against the walls?
White will reflect light for you, and help in the tent if you have no reflective walls.

Amazon sells Mylar blankets for 10 dollars for a 20 pack . Worth every Penney when I used em for my stealth box lol

Be careful watering them that much, if you keep them too damp you're asking for damping off. The surface will dry before the rest of it, so let it breath a little.

For now I have some Mylar sheeting on the way from Amazon. Going to try and line the clear tent with it so I can atleast get some reflection going, humidity and heat are golden though. Retains them both well. Hoping I’ll at least be able to get a plant or two in it for veg, if not than I’ll keep it a germination tent or something
