HELP! G13 Kush Ventalation

We need major ideas for venting a closed closet....we are using a 400 watt mh as of now. The closet is 11x4 and we have to fans goin. The only in or out right now is the crack at the bottom of the door. I have tried finding help for this topic with not a ton of luck! PLease help!

I cover my windows and open the closet doors with a dark sheet covering the door.

You need an exhaust fan pulling the heat out of the closet, fans blowing the hot air around isn't going to cut it

if you could cut a hole somewhere and buy a inline fan and a piece of ducting or a charcoal filter

First off.. starting multiple threads isn't going to get you answers faster, it just takes up space. now, to answer your question, you definitely need a cool air intake and an exhaust. In order to get enough co2 to the plants the air in the room needs to be completely renewed every 3-5 minutes. so, say the height in your room is 8 feet, your cubic feet would be 352, take that and divide it by 5 (5 minutes). This gives you the minimum cfm rating for your fans to replace the air every 5 minutes. 70 cfm would be your minimum, but i would go with at least 160 to help with the heat as well.

How do i know how many cfm my fans are producing?

it will say on the packaging for the fan itself.. but if you don't have that, here is a general guide for exhaust and intake fans you can find at homedepot or any hydro sotre (This WILL very between fans tho)

4 inch - 80 cfm
6 inch - 160
8 inch - 500
12 inch - 760

also, you intake cfm's MUST match the exhaust cfm to create a vacuum, otherwise it won't work correctly. If not using an intake fan, you must have an intake whole at least twice the diameter of the exhaust fan to creat the same vacuum. i.e 12 inch exhaust = 24 inch intake

Well lets see i have a once inch gap at the bottom of teh door.....I was thinking maybe rigging up somethin to concolidate air down to the one inch or somthing.....cant really put any holes in walls either.

well, your not gonna be able to do it through the one inch crack... so it looks like you'll be leaving the door open when the lights are on and have an oscillating fan inside your room. Other than that you are SOL my friend

Your going to to have to cut a hole somewhere...can you vent into the attic?

I forgot to say....A 1" gap along a 28" wide door = 28 sguare inches, plenty big enough for a passive intake. If you can vent into the attic, a good 4" centrifugal fan and filter will solve your odour problems.

My 4" Can-fan is rated for 178cfm.....you get what you pay for.
