Help Get Cannabis Card In Cali

I was kinda disappointed in how easy it was to get my card. I am not even sure if he checked my medical records.

I walked into his office and glanced at his screen, he had already written up his visit summary with me before he even talked to me. I sat down and he asked for my medical records and went straight to the end and grabbed a paper that summarized my diagnoses and took it the the photocopier. Told me what strains I should smoke then sent me to his secretary. She took my picture then handed me my card and I was on my way.

what your describing isn't the county issued card. that is just a handy card that some places give to their patient. You also get a physical copy of your rec and some places give you a miniature version of your rec, the size of a business card. The county issued card is much more than "okay, give me the money and I'll give you the card". you have to have extensive medical records. you have to mail in forms, go in for interviews. Its a much lengthier process.

Yeah I meant "recommendation", but they also printed me out a little plastic ID card too.

I just got the paper, I don't want to be in any database (except for the confidential medical one dispensaries use to verify you're legal)

i got my cannabis card for shoulder pain, but i have had two surgeries and have a huge file of medical proof. so it was in and out for me.
with your back issues unless you have had consultations with regular doctors in the past for the issue and can prove it then you wont get a card from just any cannabis doctor. check online forums for the sympathetic doctors who hand out licenses because they feel there helping people stay out of jail.
there are plenty of doctors who hand out licences like there the dmv.
but there are also those who take there recommendations a bit more seriously. and if you complain about random pain without evidence, ( x-ray, cat scan, previous doctor assessments) they wont give you a license. but there are plenty of ailments like insomnia or lack of appitite that have no real proof ya know.
in the end most will readily hand over a license because when they issue it you readily hand over some cash. so the more they reccomend the more money they make
good luck. my doctor was pretty cool about it, asked me a few questions then told me to relax id be smoking soon.

Around here, most cannabis licensing docs want you to bring in any prescription meds you are taking, but they aren't going to check your medical record. The one I went to didn't even look in my bag of meds. I take an anti inflamatory for joint inflamation and back pain, a medication for insomnia, and a few other minor things. He asked why I was going the legal route, and I told him it was a hassle to buy weed on the streets, and it would be better to buy from a dispensary.

I do use it mostly for insomnia and stress. Works for me

If you go to a 'pot' doc, certain success.

ya man no need to get prescription medication first unless you like valium or whatever. most cannabis doctors recognize that plenty of there patient prefer to stay away from prescription medication because of the dependancy issues and side effects. they for the most part are happy to hand over a license.
