HELP! Gnats! What happens if I cut down my scrog net?

My grow room decided to rent out a space for fungus gnats, so I put in the yellow stickers that are for gnats...the freaking tray that they sat on was the same color of yellow. Needless to say the stickers were not doing their job as well as they should have. So I pulled the tray out, very carefully. I’m debating on cutting the scrog net down because its not set perfect anymore and putting stress on the plants. I’m about 1.5-2 weeks from harvest. Will this mess with the ladies putting the stress in certain areas and it’s also rubbing buds in places and I’ve done the best I can with rearranging them but I’m worried about breaking them.

So I feel as though an option would be to cut the scrog net out..I can do that pretty easily but I’m not sure if the plant will do ok in the next coming week/s. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated and I can give many more details if needed

  1. Apply something to kill larva. H2O2 or whatever you wanna go with.
  2. Prevent those fuckers from laying more eggs. Get a shit load of sticky paper traps, you don't have enough.
  3. Top off your container with perlite. I didn't believe it was so easy, but it is.\
  4. Not sure why I made a list, it doesn't applicable.
I only have a couple in my normal house plants. I put the perlite down and they don't know what the fuck to do (Strange Wilderness quote, anybody?)

Put out a jar of vinegar and a couple drops of dish soap. The adults will hop right in. I find lowering the temps help reduce the number of new buggers from spawning. Good luck!

Bti.

Or predators like hypoaspis miles.

There are other methods too. Yellow sticky traps for fliers until you get things under control. Don't keep the top layer too moist, and covering it with perlite or DE will help too.

I just used EWC and they came with the hypoaspis miles that took care of the gnats for good.

Fungus gnats really aren't a big deal at all.

Ive been using the mosquito dunks, let soak in your water for 24hrs then water your plants. They like the bottom where the drain holes are so put some water in your tray also.

I've had them a couple of times when I used organic soil. I ended up using Diatomaceous earth, Neem oil and yellow or blue sticky strips mounted high and also near the drains on the pots. That took care of them.
You can spray the top of soil with the Neem Oil and then put a thin layer of Diatomaceous earth on top of that. It helps to kill the eggs and hatchlings that are in the soil. The traps take care of the gnats flying around.

Since I started using mosquito dunks I haven't seen a single gnat. Will end an infestation quickly and is a great preventive measure.

You don't even need to soak them. Just break them up into little chunks and bury a few pieces in your medium a few inches down. Everytime you water it now releases a little bit of the bacteria into the medium. Put a new chunk in every month or two as a preventative measure.

BTI is good against gnats and mosquitoes you can give that a go.

But honestly, whats the point in treating gnats 2 weeks to harvest? GNATS ARE A PAIN TO GET RID OF.
Most of the time is it caused by shitty bug infested soil. Next time you're doing a bunch of plants in soil, remember to treat for pests before they become an issue ... because it's always just a matter of time before they show up.
