[Help] Grow room killing plants?

Ok first off let me give you guys some details. I live in ga the temperature here is about 88 degrees during the peak of the day and anywhere from 50-72 degrees at night. I have built a grow room out doors above this very large dog house we built for our st. benard. The doghouse has a roof almost as high as a normal house and I built an additional ceiling in it so its pretty much like a hidden attic in the dog house. The dog house has insulation in the roof and walls. Also has a window unit air conditioner in it. In the fake attic I built i lined the walls with a mylar material cut a few holes out that go up into the actual roof and put some pvc pipe through the holes so a good bit of fresh air comes in. I also have a good sized fan with 3 modes for circulation. The lights i have around about 1300 lumens a peice (cfl) and i Probably have about 15 of them. The temperature inside this room stays about 86-88 from noon til night. And early mornings and during the night (as of right now) it stays about 72-74. I have also added a heat lamp light in there and tried turning it on and it peaked about 90ish in there this past week. So i keep it off as of now. My problem is i germinated a few seeds and planted them in pots with nutrients added. Its been about 2 weeks they havent grown any. One has died. And the one that is alive and looks healthy is pretty much stunted I beleive. Im pretty sure its because of my retarded ass adding nutrients that early and burned them up. However, I used some peat pellets in the little humidity peat box thing, and almost all the seeds germinated fine so i figured I was good to go in a few weeks i could transplant them into a pot. Wrong. Only one made it the others shrivled up and died leaving me with one really healthy looking plant. Not sure what happend but today I regerminated some more and transplanted my only healthy one to a pot. What could be causing these plants to die? At first i was convinced it was the temp. but the temperature seems to be correct as of right now and i eliminated nutrients for the peat pellets because they have no nutrients in it. Maybe i have to
many lights for germinating or growing period. I find every morning I go to check them the soil is pretty dry but I read that I was suppose to keep the germinating pellets close to the lights to start the growing. So im not real sure why I keep having plants die before they even start good..i lightly spray the peat pellets if they get to dry and water my plants everyday. Does anyone have any sort of suggestion, what am I doing wrong? is my room faulty or just how im starting them ive attached some pics of my room and etc. Thanks guys.

P.S. ive grown a few times in a pc case and ive never done anything special to them. I germinated them in a wet paper towel then put them in a pot and they grow fine? So im not sure whats going on thanks

overwatering even with dry ass soil every morning i go check them? i beleive i read something about the peat pellets are suppose to get dry but I dont see how like super dry dirt can germinate anything? Ive been watering where i water then stick my finger about 2-3 inches in the soil to see if its still moist and it is. So i water them every morning and lightly spray the peat pellets every few days if they get to dry. some im confused as how im over watering them

stickysticky my humidity is Normal its been normal it never goes below or above normal i remember one day it got a good bit under normal but it was a good bit from dry on my thermometer and it doesnt feel humid in the room it all it feels pretty normal

Temps in the 84+ region stunt growth big time, IMO. That box also doesn't look like it has great air circulation. Just going off the picture, though. Do make sure you have some kind of fan extracting air. Make sure it has adequate CFMs.

Next time, don't give any kind of nutes until at least the 2 week mark of the seedlings life.

Lastly, if I understand correctly, did you say you waited 2 weeks to transplant a sprouted seed in a jiffy pellet? Definitely don't want to do that. The moment I see those 2 little leaves peaking their eyes out I carefully transplant it into a pot right then.

no i meant adding nuts 2 - 3 weeks later. But you are it stays pretty close to 84 at all times except night. I could easily just wire a few computer fans up to the pvc pipes one to extract air out and one to pull some fresh air in do you think that would work? or would it just be easier to pull a few of the lights out to reduce the temperature? And btw headies your grow journal link to that video is funny..you sound like your drunk or something haha

I can't believe ur dog has air conditioning. Fuck what's this world coming too! Can I move into ur dog house? Prolly nicer then my real house.

anyways...

I would recommend you get a cheap 4inch exhaust fan and that's all u will need to keep temps down. You can find them for under 100 bucks easy. Don't think compuuter fans will pull enough air. Unless the box is much smaller thn I think

Just make sure there is some kind of passive air intake and do yourself a favor-- buy a good exhaust fan. That space looks pretty large, you might possibly need 500cfms or more.

Google is your friend if you're trying to figure out how many cfm you need for that space. From what I've gathered you want to refresh the entire room 5 times a minute? I could be way off mark. Although I'm pretty sure. lol

Just get a nice exhaust fan, they aren't too expensive. Might have to shell out one or two benjamins. It will cure so many headaches though, take it from someone who has a 400w HPS in a small freaking closet-- high temps are the enemy

Glad you liked my vid. I don't drink, haha. Just stay high, man.

My veg room hangs in at 80-84 and still works, good crosswise airflow.

I did not see the color temp (K) of the CFL's.
Some red signal is necessary to give an extra root growth signal, red makes the plant think rain is coming and the roots get all ready. If the room is bright it does not cause stretch.
Too much red and the leaves join in thinking its rain coming and get huge.

I have a strain sensitive to blue and had to change my color ratio to get good rooting. Side by side, the new strain would not take with the light I had been using sucessfully.

Different plants have different wants. Pronounce 'plants' like east coast 'aunts' and it rhymes. Yeah, I'm stoned.

Just tossing out experiences, your seedling should be growing.

Well my advice to you is to water your jiffy pellets a little more and your soil a little less. In other words transplant your seedlings into pots right away, when you water them make sure the soil is nearly dry. Your jiffy pellets should be more moist than your soil normally. As you know now, don't give nutes until around 3 weeks or so and make sure you have a good PH pen to test your runoff PH. The other thing that I would suggest to you is to keep your young seedlings a little further away from the lights until they are more established. I usually keep them about a foot or so until the first true leaves, this should also help with your temps. Once they are doing good then move them up close and blast them. Also an oscillating fan blowing across the tops can make a world of difference as well.

With your ventilation I would run a passive intake and pull all the hot air out of the box I could with fans which may help make better use of your a/c. Good luck and happy growing!

great advice from everyone i just unplugged 3 of the lights and the temperature stays between 74-82 now the humidity is normal and i moved the peat pellets away from the light until they sprout and kept my healthy plant close it has probably grown another 2 inches just over night so i beleive its doing good thanks guys
