help help help!!! need help!

hi, could sumone please give me sum advice?

im currently growing my plants under a 250watt hps lamp and the electricity is costing a bomb!
today i bought 2x 2ft double fluorescent fittings with a cool white and warm white bulb in each one,
question is will i be able to replace my 250watt hps light with these for vegging them use the hps for floweering,
if i swap to the fluoro's now will it mess up my plants????

please guys any advice is more than welcome....

In my opinion the plants will probably veg better under those fluoros. The wider color spectrum will do them good and you should see you cabinet temperature drop.
On a side note, a 250 watt HPS using 120v plug should only be pulling like 2.083 amps. It should be costing all that much to run it. What is the total wattage on your tube fluoros?

Try replacing every incandescent bulb in your house with a compact fluro. That'll at least help cut the bill back a little bit. Oh and it's good for the environment too...or something.

hi, thats good to hear my tubes are 18watt each and theres 4 of em so 72 watts in total.

is that even enuf? lol

A 250 cant be making that much of a difference in the bill. It will cost money for the lights to be on yes but your talking like its $100 more a month or something.

im on a pre-pay card meter and with the light and fan running 18/6 it does put it up about £1.50 a day but i guess im just being tight lol
i wont care if i get to harvest

WOW!! where I live that light costs me 6 cents to run it for 4 hours. here 1KWH costs 6 cents. so .36 cents a day, compared to your equivalent $3 a day. A fan probably costs about 1 dollar to run for the month. I run 2x400 HPS and 1x400 MH and 1 125W CFL and grand total for it all puts me at around $40 for me, or 20 pound to you.

Well im in england and my meter is set to 12pence a kwh. Its goin stupid over here everything is going up in price everyday and dont even get me started on petrol lol i only got a 250watt hps and a 16" fan oh and the pump for the tank but its still costing me double wot i would normally pay for electric, i think my advice is never move to england! Lol its way too expensive and always rains!
