i am considering attempting to grow a couple plants to supply my own personal use. im only starting with a couple to see how it goes and well.. get the hang of it. ive thought through alot of things and am asking of any of your opinions since your probally much more knowledgable than me on the situation and have more experience. its almost 4:20am.. im baked and tired.. so i drew this shitty drawing.

as you can see i would have 2 6" netpots suspended in a 20gallon rubbermaid container with PLAIN, CLEAN water (i plan on getting a reverse osmosis system). in this container i would have a submersible pump with a misting attachment. inside the netpots i would use one of the cocotek coconut liners for netpots, and fill it with coconut coir. i would apply nutrient solution to the growing medium via a drip system from a seperate nutrient reservoir.

i ask of you
1) would this work? if so, if not. your opinions on how to make it work, or make it work better. (should i get 2 misters?; is this idea horrible? btw this is my first time growing and i realize this is probally .. difficult to say the least)
2) where in the hell can i get these things locally/easily w/o having to order anything (i know.. if i want teh coco liners i have to order them..)

i have more to ask.. /discuss.. but im tired and dont want to type more. please get back to me. ill post another novel of questions tomorrow probally.

btw.. idk if i said this, but i was typign the title/tags and decided to mention this is my first time ever attempting anything like this

one noob to another noob, I think you're over complicating it a little. the second res isn't really needed, just have your nutriant solution in the bin under your plants, and pump from that. give the water plenty of oxygen and keep it below 70F. start out with very mild nutes so you don't shock the plants, then work up to 75% or so strength nutes over a few weeks.

I'm starting plants out from seed with a drip system something like your idea. then once they have some good roots growing, I'm moving them to ebb and flow, my fav system, for the rest of veg and flowering

yeah i know i could do that, i had a setup like that before. this is just a more advanced hydro-organic setup i saw and molded my own idea out of. it makes use of the cannabis plants root system of which the top 1/3rd of the roots specialize in nutrient intake while the bottom 2/3rd specialize for water. since nothing but plain water is recirculated the pH is almost easier to maintain. one concern i have though is a possible salt buildup in the growing media or the nutrient solution soaking the media too much and dripping some nutes into the plain water reservoir. i may just have to move this thread to elsewhere cause i did see some other people talking about a similar setup and maybe they can have some input. but thank you lorenzo for at least taking the time to give me a response.

I see I see, you're looking for a real pro to give you advice. it's ok, I admit it. I haven't a clue what I'm doing. lol

if you're doing your first grow, I wouldn't worry about a set up that complex. it might be nice to have a more stable ph in the fresh water tank, but the tank with the nutes is the one that really matters. best of luck bro :-)
