Help, I put my plants outside too soon and they flowered.

First, I want to say thanks for any help I recieve with this post. I aquired 6 GDP clones that were grown indoors for 2 months and then moved outdoors the last week of February not realizing this was waaaay too early (my seed stock, started at the same time is now looking awesome, btw). I also did the same with 6 other various clones though they were only a few weeks old when aquired. Anyway, the plants went into flower. Thus I put together a makeshift tent to go over the plants at night and have been hitting them with a few hours of 200w flourescent for about 3 weeks now. While the girl look quite healthy, and the flower pistals have begun to retreat noticably, they still appear to be at an inbetween stage. Now, here is the question: Do I just continue with the suplemental light at night until the days get long enough in early May, or should I just flower them? I'm leaning towards sticking with the supplemental light since they look healthy, but wanted to have others weigh in. Also, if I do continue to extend the light at night should I cut the the flowers from the mid and upper portions of plant? I will try to post pick later if I can get all the technology to do what it's supposed to do. Again, thanks for any help as I have seen similar questions but none that deal with this topic specifically. So confused since they are in what appears to be a confused state right now and don't wanna make things worse.

if you revegitate them, provide 18 hours of light a day. that will make them stop flowering. as for if you should flower, thats up to you. if you flower, you can take a couple buds off the top, then, put them out even in april, and they will revegitate on their own when the days are long enough. this is how you can have bud now, and later. indoor bud, and outdoor bud. good luck man.

Pics 1 and 2 are the bigger girls (GDP almost 3 and a half months old) and pic 3 is of an OG Fire little girl. All have flowers to differnt degrees. The flowers closest to the stems at the center seem to show the least amount of response while the tops appear to be going back into veg. Close ups to come if the technology works.

Pics 1 and 2 are close ups of flower growth on the big girls (GDP). Pics 3 and 4 are the flowers closest to the main stem. As you can see, the pistol growth at the top of the plant has responded better than the on the inner stem.

I'd agree they went out too early. I started in may last year and this year I'll delay it to nearly june for clones. If you have a garden light (not green) then you can leave that on for a few hours at night rather than bring them in. You just need to confuse them back into veg.

Thanks to everyone for the replies thus far. With your help the decision has been made to continue the reveg process sooooo, the next question is how strong and how much supplemental light are needed? As it stands now, they are exposed to dawns early light and then are tented in the evening after the sun goes down. I am running a 250w, full spectrum flourescent until midnight, which means they are getting aprox. 17-18 hours of light depending on sunrise. I have a digital 1000w ballast and hood I could switch in but was trying not to as that is being used to help some other recently aquired clones from vegging by giving them supplemental light as well. The other thought was to just continue with the 250w flourescent since that's what the plants have been getting for the past few weeks anyway. The only reason to make the switch would be to push them over the hump but then there is concern that the ones that are currently getting the big light will flower if they only get the 250w flourescent.

The reality is that I aquired waaay more plants (indoor clones) than I was expecting for this grow and am just trying to improvise to get by until the merry month of May. Had a friend dump 26, 2 month old, hydroponically grown girls scout cookie clones on me for free so I'm doing my best to keep them all happy with the equipment on hand. I know, I know, tough problem to have, smh. The gs cookies are a whole seperate topic but so far the are looking good. We'll see

Thanks, it's nice to hear it back in rotation at Furthur shows.

Oh, and I forgot to mention that I am going to flower one of the GDP's just to see what happens; TOFTT for the sake of science ;)

should I cut the the flowers from the mid and upper portions of plant?
Yes it will only rot in the plant ,cut the top 2/3 of the plant and it will re-shoot from the bottom.

Thanks and I agree with taking some of the flowers off but cutting it by 2/3 seems a bit extreme since the buds are extremely tiny. my partner feels they should just be left to do their thing since today we looked at the flowers under a hand lense and nearly all of the tiny flowers now have lttle, tiny, itty bitty leaves opping out of them and are showing pistal retraction. I suspect they are gonna be just fine with each passing day and will try to post progress pics periodically. They are at least 2 feet tall and it isn't even may.

i would say that that is enough supplemental lighting to get them back in vegetation, just to make sure i would leave them on for about 20 hours. at least 18 will start veg, 20 will guarantee it. it will be a while before there are new growths though, just be patient. what kind of light are they getting during the day? is it over 12 hours? they look really good by the way.

They're getting plenty of outdoor light during the day and then when the son starts to go dow we tent them and keep on a 250w flourescent till midnight they're probably getting about 18-19 and getting longer each day. we're up to untent them before sunrise. think they're okay for now. will post more pics this week. probably shoulda started a journal but that will be for another time. thanks for the help and reassurances :)

I would veg under at least 100 actual Watts per plant and gdp can get really bushy and yeild nice so reveg her for a while its worth it

Edit... 24hr light cycle will help you get back to veg state sooner
