Help Identify Deficiency or Nute Lockout?

Ok, I have some plants that are starting to show some type of Deficiency or possibly nute lockout. The plant in picture is Purple Jellato in Fox Farms Ocean Forest. 19 Days old. They are under a 6 strip 700 watt LED lamp that i veg my whole room under. Symptoms just started showing maybe 1 or 2 days ago. Some of the other plants are just barely showing the same symptoms just a little earlier stage. I have the same strain in some Build-A-Soil 3.0 mix and they are showing no symptoms whatsoever so its gotta be the soil.

Im watering with plain tap water via blumats. I bubble it for 24 hours to evaporate the chlorine before it goes into my reservoir. I don't know the PH since i've never measured PH with organics. I just ordered a PH meter though since i've been having these types of problems since I've switched to LED's.

Im also running CO2 at 1300ppm so i run my temps in the high 70's to low 80's.

What do you guys think is the problem? Thanks

Looks a little like something was splashed on them. Any chance something was?

Not sure about the tips. But from what I gather on here, ffof is usually a bit hot.

Could the soil be staying a bit damp? Would it be worth adjusting the blumats a bit on the ffof?

No, I really don't think anything was splashed on them but i guess thats a possibility. Just cant think of anything at the moment.

Its been in the FFOF for 9 days now and has just started showing these signs.

I do keep the soil a bit damp at all times but not overwatered. I just like to keep it from drying out and causing the microbial activity to die.

Any added aeration / perlite?

Might be worth dialing it back just a tad I think.

The build a soil 3 mix is all organic?
Ffof isn't and has slow / timed release fertilizer too?
That's where I was headed from my first post. Just wondering. Because it could be slow release fertilizer causing trouble, if it's anything like osmocote or something.

Worth checking the ph of the ffof too tbh. There's probably a lot of peat moss etc too. And is likely a little on the acidic side.
This is where i think a little less dampness will be beneficial.

I'm going to say it's not deficiency. Based off the time in the soil and how ready hot ffof usually seems to be.

Wow, I was under the impression that it was organic! I don't even want it anymore lol... I will dial the water back a bit and see how it does. Im planning on checking the PH as soon as my meter comes in. These are just some expensive seeds and also a strain I really want to get the most out of so im trying to get everything in check before it becomes a bigger problem.

I can't tell for certain from their website and haven't used it before, so don't take my word on it not being so. But they don't seem to state it as such.

Yeah good plan. Don't think it could hurt.

All the best and good luck.

It's clearly Calcium and Magnesium deficiency. Leaf edges curling up is Mg and the spots are Ca. It's point number one in any deficiency or plant diagnoses guide. Something splashed on them... jesus.

Apologies for chiming in late. Just saw thread. This looks like typical Fox Farm B.S.. I threw 10 bags in the compost pile. Won't think of using for 2 springs from now. My suggestion is to flush hard. I mean a serious run off with 5.8 -6.0 water. Then continue watering with 6.2 - 6.6 water until flower. FF built a following and then went profit. Might as well use MG. I'd suggest a 30% blend with coco coire. Will slow the erratic nute spikes and provide aeration to the roots you currently do not have.

any luck figuring out the problem?

I did, well I think I did. A couple of days later, pretty much all my plants started showing similar symptoms. Im running 3 different soils so I started getting more suspicious. My PH meter came in and as Aussieaceae predicted, the FFOF had low PH. Added some top soil with lime mixed in and cut the watering down but while i was adding the new layer of topsoil, I noticed little white larva crawling around.

Did some investigating/research and found out I had a pretty bad fungus gnat infestation! They symptoms identically mimmic phantom lockouts and MG deficiencies. I got some Gnatrol and Biowar root & foliar packs. Hit them for the first time the other day and haven't seen any gnat/larva activity since. I've also seen no new or worsening damage either. Im doing another application on Monday then again on Saturday and that will be the recommended 3 times in 15 days app rate. I think I will be using the combo as preventative measures in the future as well.

here is a solid thread on icmag about them:

So I applied Gnatrol at the Moderate infestation application rate of 2 teaspoons per gallon. I thought Gnatrol was working after the first application. There were noticeably less gnats while I was applying the second application but i still applied at the same rate. Well today I noticed my plants were showing new sick leafs so i inspected the soil and they're worse than they have ever been!

The directions say to apply 3 times in 15 days. Tomorrow will be the 3rd application. Im going to up the dose to the max 3 teaspoons per gallon and apply it along with the Biowar Root and Foliar pack tea i got brewing right now. If this 3rd application doesn't work, I don't know what im going to do. These things are stressing me out! This will be the second batch of flowering plants they've ruined. The first run I only got a half oz per plant!
