Help identifying a light?

First of all apologies for making this my first post but have been busy reading up and watching you tube videos on setting up various hydroponic systems and have managed to set up a drip feed system for use with nutrients and hydroton and rock wool cubes. I have also included a bubbler to provide oxygen to the water/nutrient solution when it begins running.

Anyway... This will be my first grow and have got to the point of lighting. I was gifted a lights a few years ago and have just pulled it out the shed. I was hoping that someone would be able to identify if it is even a grow light of some description or not?

Thank you.

Images hopefully appear below.

that's a metal halide. Easiest way to tell is that it has that little envelope looking thing in it that runs to the wires. That envelope is where the halides that produce the light spectrum are held. An HPS will look a bit more like a traditional bulb, just larger and with a little more wires in it.

yep it's a mh, take it from someone who has used them for over 15 years in every form factor avail :) The halide envelope is the dead give away.
