help/improvents i can make

these are my 1 week old bag seed seedlings. they are in regular potting soil with a 60w plant light on them. the first few days they were under a 45w cfl but yesterday i bought the plant light. are there any improvements i could make on this set up to help my plant grow better/faster.

one plant per planter is a good rule of thumb to follow, that way the roots dont get tangled and if something goes wrong w/ one than it wont affect the other

It sounds like an incandescent light bulb, put the 45 watt CFL back over your plants for now and keep it about 1-2 inches from the top leaves.

Get rid of that bulb, it puts out way too much heat with little usable light to the plant. Put the 45 watt CFL back over your plants and think of putting them in separate containers. And read about lights in the several threads dedicated to them on this forum.

yeah,
that things not pushing out 1/2 the lumens the 45w cfl is, i bet.

go 24/0 with the light you are using and get a cfl that simulates sunlight, says it right on the package and use that bulb.

If it is an incandescent bulb, then they are supposed to be not good for growing at all...they waste a huge amount of light. Cfls supposed to be much better, but if your really trying to do it good then buy yourself an HPS setup and you will see a huge difference.
