Hi, im Josh.

Im here to ask/learn about the process of getting your medical card. I currently reside in Santa Maria CA. How does one go about getting it?

Some info on myself: Havent been to a doctor in at least 3-4 years. (currently 20) Never had any form of coverage, other then Medical when I was younger. Currently have Medical again.

Conditions I have: some minor back problems, cracking, aching joints, weird eyeball headaches that iv been getting since I was 10, dental pain, and some random, somewhat frequent anxiety attack. Had gone to the doctor years ago for most of this and they only prescribed me some different medications, which threw me off.

Where would the best place to go be? Also, how much does it usually cost to see the doctor, and get my card? Hoping to hear from people with experience.

you will probably have to go into santa barbara as santa maria and pismo beach banned dispens. so probably no docs around. you can contact medican or normal to find a legit doctor in your area. cost depends on your area. LA you can get a recommendation for 40 bucks but areas where doctors who give recommendations are rare cost more. contact either of those two organizations and they will help you locate the right doctor and youll get prices and their process and each doctor can vary. It does help to have any precious medical records or a report from back therapist. good luck and def look into it. its worth it!

Thx for the info, ill look into that as soon as I can. I figured Id have to go out of town, as I have been told that before (banned dispensaries/no doctor)

I think it only cost me like $50 to see the doctor and get my recommendation. Some places will not make you pay if you do not qualify.

If you find the right doc, you just have to have an ailment that marijuana helps alleviate....thats how i got mine. Ive had a shitty back since puberty began, my back isnt straight it curves inward. Always starts hurting after standing for more than like an hour or hour and a half...constantly crack it to make it feel better, and stretch. About a year ago I started developing horrible sleeping habits, and couldnt fall or stay asleep....started abusing nyquil then moved onto benadryl then eventually pot which helps just as much as taking a large dose of nyquil for the first time, without the shitty nyquil hangover in the morning(the grogginess and trouble waking up completely).

The doc I went to was a 420 evaluations doc and I explained to him both of these problems, and that I have never gone to a doctor specifically for either so I didnt have any medical records. Explained to him how much pot helps both ailments and that I was already using pot everyday and he said, "well since you are already using cannabis everyday and night, how about we make it legal for you?" signed the rec and had me on my way.

The key phrase is "I use pot...it helps". It doesn't really matter what the ailment is. "Ever since I crushed my testicle power jacking to midget donkey porn, I've had to smoke Brainslammer Super Skull Punch OG #4 to get some pain relief. When I can't get that, I just eat a couple hundred mg of Oxy's". Here's your rec.
