Help! Is this Bud Rot?

The main cola on my clone looks weird, brownish. And leaves are falling off. I know this is normal to some extent but this time it looks peculiar... Plus the rest of the buds look idk... greener

This being said it doesn't smell strange or anything, just looks terrible. Could it be bud rot?

They both have 75 days of flower

Or should I just harvest everything at this point?
The obviously affected buds are trash.
Outdoors you can get "lucky" and have localized rot from caterpillar shit while other buds are fine.
Indoors rot is usually caused from environmental factors and will affect the entire plant.
I suppose you could scout the rest with a magnifier and harvest what looks good, but personally I'd trash it and start again.
Mold is not to be fucked with

Damn... I'm almost crying. But like you said, can't fuck around with health risks

This is the first time it happened to me.
RH is maybe on the high side ( 63% ) but temp is good 23°C ( 74F ) and I have 2 fans inside...

Wtf could have happened goes beyond me :wall: :-(

Bud rot got me once after a 19hr. power outage, 90+ RH with no fans.

I routinely run high RH(65-70) through flower with no issues; VPD right around 1 from start to finish
Air movement is crucial if running high RH

Maybe check your fans?
The crap that builds up on the blades can dramatically reduce airflow. I had a plastic clip on fan that was spinning like normal but had seemingly no air coming from the front when I placed my hand in front of it. After removing the crud from the blade edge it worked as it should. I'm still amazed a little change in the shape of the fan blade had that profound of an effect. Sorry for the fan ramble but something to check.

It happens to the best of us, a learning experience:peace: would cut 2 inches below the bud rot, mist or dab peroxide on the cut, then toss the flowers that have the rot. Inspect the entire plant and surrounding plants daily until harvest.
There is a triple wash method to wash the flower before drying it. You can find lots of videos on you tube demonstrating the washing method. Jorge Cervantes has a method that I use.
It sounded crazy to me to wash the harvested bud, but it actually worked so well, I now wash all the outdoor flower that I harvest.
I have had times where the bud rot would keep popping up daily so I just harvested the plant and other times when I just had to cut one time and let the rest of the plant finish.
In the future you can preventatively treat with Monterey Disease control, Actinovate, Neem oil, etc.

its not the end of the world and it looks like you will still have lots of nice bud(::peace::weed:

air flow is more crucial than oscillating fans. What kind of cfm are you moving out of your tent?

Man, that really sucks.
Fans do have a tiny bit of black stuff on the edge of the blades but I do clean them after every grow... Maybe it is more about the position of the fans, I'll have to rethink that for sure. Maybe buy one more just in case

Thank you for the positivity :peace:
I don't have peroxide at the moment. Maybe I'll get it in the future, hoping this never happens again... I'll just harvest everything and check on it closely.
What troubles me is that not all bud rot is visible, and what happens if I happen to smoke it? I'm a bit concerned tbh. I can try to wash them but still, rot goes inside of the bud also

Hi

I have no clue, but the tent is 27"x27"62" (70x70x160), I have two 4 inch fans moving air around, + a 4 inch inline duct fan

If there is enough bud left, cut the affected ones and use a garden pressure hose on them, the bud rot washes out and you're left with the sopping wet remains that then need to be dried out quickly. But only use this method if you really have to. Before you asked us first, you shouñd have 'looked inside' parting the buds with fingertips and inspecting the interior. I do this pretty much daily in late flower because bud rot happens really fast.

Any bud that is suspect can be used for canna/oil/butter.. Cooking kills the mold..
Are you sure? I've read it doesn't... I'll read more then. I'd love to be able to save something, even if only for edibles

Well this was supposted to be my next weed, just finished smoking what was left of my last grow lol
So yeah, it's not like I have to but having no weed to smoke before going to bed sucks
I did not look inside because it's one of those things that "it will never happen to me". That, plus I'm still a noob so didn't really take it into account. I will surely learn from this mistake tho.

Once I washed the buds, what should I use to dry them quickly? I have a food dehydrator lying around, could I use that or it's overkill?

Someone told me that topping the plant avoids the big central cola and creates more smaller size buds which helps with this problem. Also sativa strains are airy and do better in these environments. Good luck sdd420

When it's happened to me (more than once you can be sure) I press the washed bud between kitchen towel and place it in the sun to dry. But any method of quickly drying will be OK. You can usually save some.

Good question.. After doing more research, No I'm not so sure now.. Maybe bubble hash made into oil/butter?
That sounds like it could work, but as for now I do not have the knowledge nor the time to learn it lol

Ok thanks. Tomorrow I'll wash them bud by bud and look inside carefully. I'll try with the food dehydrator. I know I should do it now but it's really late and I don't have the energy to do it. If by tomorrow it all goes to hell then fuck it, in the trash she goes
