HELP! leaves falling off

Hey guys I'm new here and I need some help, ok so I know NOTHING about growing and I got a seed off a freind and put it in a glass of water till the root came out and then put it in a pot that I keep in my room with a LED light it's about 2.5 months old now and it's not very big but it's growing and it has lost all its leaves except the top ones everytime it grows and new leaf the ones below turn yellow and fall off I'm not sure what's wrong here I've started to turn the light to 12/12 becaus I thought the light may be burning the leafs but it hasn't made a difference. The plant doesn't look like its dying tho it's jst very slow and a few days ago I notices some "white" little hairs about a few mills long comming out of the top of the plant I have a few pictures here so u guys can hopefully understand what's going on. Thanks :D

hi, no point even trying im afraid, you have basicaly put the plant in to flower by going 12/12 hence the whit hairs, but theres multiple things that dont look right, so id go with dons advice, theres a few basic principles to follow get those sorted and youll see a hell of a difference next time,

I kept my lady in vegetate state for near 7 weeks then slipped to 12/12 id go along this root instead of 12/12 that could be why your plant is dying as your forcing it in to flower straight at the start, im new to this to so someone else can maybe hopefully verify this.

Going 12/12 from seed just means to skip veg state and start at flower which is no problem at all.

Your plant won't get very big but it's the route I go due to size restrictions with my cab. There is nothing there though. There is so much more to.consider to reap a smokable harvest. What kind of LED do you have? You can keep this one under 12/12 for the heck of it but you will not get anything over a gram :( you really should do research, watch grow DVDs, etc.

You don't have to pull it and start over if you don't want.

First lets's transplant that lanky bitch in a new pot and bury that stem so only about 4" are above the ground and feed with a complete fertilizer. Something with a good ration, like 3-4-2 or something like that.

Second your going to need more lights, get some cfls, you need at least 100 watts per plant and you will need more in flower.

Third, 12/12 should of never been started, the leaves are falling off because she's hungry, the yellowing/dropping leaves is a sure sign that she has wanted food, your staving here so if you don't want to start over do what I told you.

Well said... Although I may be misunderstood.. I am under the influence that you should not feed nutes to such a young seedling...


In regards to transplanting, that's spot on. Bury that stem it's good for stronger and healthier root growth. Well healthy or vigorous growth.

Really you feed when she looks like she needs it, I don't go on any schedule on when to feed, I feed when they tell me they want something, but then again I'm all organic and the only thing I feed is teas so it's a wash.

But yes don't give young seedlings food but if you do then start them at very small doses and don't start until I'd say 2-3 week period, if you have good soil it should feed for at least 30 days...

He's right on the light part. I would go and pick up another light. Judging my the shade of purple in the pic you have the LED on, it does not seem very bright at all. Wattage is very important!

Just go buy ya a box of Great Value cfls from walmart, 4 pack for 9 bucks.

Get the 23 watt daylight bulbs, that will give you close enough and then do everything else I said, I guarantee she will love you for it.

I'd go cfl's over leds anyday, well at least the smaller ones, if your going to do LED you need to drop some good dough on a nice unit. Those lil led's that replaced the cfls don't really do much good.

YeA, I have been looking at some of the UFO LEDS, but every time I look, my wallet comes out and smacks the grin off my face and is like"hey man. Your fuckin nuts! What's the wife gonna say?" Then I am all like "good point, I don't want to die, thanks wallet..."

I don't always talk to my wallet but unfortunately it's not good for much else

I do the same thing lol, but I usually go ahead and buy it and then when I get home my wallet is the only thing that will talk to me lol....
