Help, Leaves Turning Yellow!

Hi everyone, my plants are about 4 weeks old and the bottom leaves are turning yellow from the tips. Eventually, the leaf turns brown and falls off. I have read plenty of threads here on this forum and I have seen plenty of different answers. I would like to know whether is it a nitrogen deficiency or there is too much nitrogen. Sadly, I'm using Miracle grow fertilizer (.18 -.10 -.10). I don't have a ph meter or any nutrients at this time. I'm growing 2 lowryder #2 so they are in the flowering stage already. #1 and #4 are my one plant and the other two are the second plant. I hope you guys can help. Miracle Grow is not suitable for growing cannabis. I've read heaps of threads where people have used this and had loads of problems. Your pics show deficiencies on some leaves and over fertilization on others, your plants really do look in a sorry state :(
Can't really offer any advice except for go and buy some proper nutrients, a ph meter and a nutrient meter, then you may stand more chance of producing something nice :)

I grow in MG products and with MG ferts. I know it's not the best, or even ideal, but to blanket state it's not suitable is not correct. I use a mix of MG potting mix and MG Perlite and I use MG bloom nutes. Eventually, I want to get away from this set up, because I'm sure I can get better results with better products, but it can be done. Oh yea, I grow using mainly CFLs too. I did my entire first grow, from seed to harvest under CFLs with my MG lineup. I added a small,(150W) HPS to my current grow, to get some better density on my buds and so far, it's working.

As far as fixing your situation, I don't have a lot of experience and knowledge to offer, I just didn't want you to toss your ladies without trying because someone told you that your soil isn't suitable, but I can suggest that you watch how much you water and don't use full strength nutes. Also, how long have you been adding nutes. Most of the MG soil mixes have time release nutes in them, so you really shouldn't be adding nutes for the first few weeks at all. When you do start, start at about 1/4 strength, and don't add nutes everytime you water. Just my .02, if it's even worth that much. Good luck with your plants, I hope to see more of them in the future.

The one good thing about your situation is that you cannot really mess them up any more than they already are.
So it's an opportunity to try to do things that you wouldn't dare try on plants that were growing to plan.

Have a go at training
Try transplanting to new soil
Experiment with nutes or attempt to flush excess nutes from the soil....

Any improvement will be a result and, if you kill them, they were dying anyway.

Use them as a learning aid and practice whatever you want to practice, whatever you find interesting....

I'm sorry I can't suggest anything to turn the plants around and guarantee a happy ending,
but you can make the most of a bad situation and LEARN from it.

Good luck
and keep us informed.

New2420 is right.
That should not be a blanket statement.
I use MG soil and MG Perlite, even germ my beans in it, and do fine.
My suggestion would be to find out what your PH is so you CAN start feeding properly, but get something with less N in it.
From the dark leafs, I would guess you're close to an N overdose, but the yellowing looks like a deficiency at the same time.
I usually start feeding around 20-25 days, but I gotta ask, are you SURE your numbers are .18-.10-.10?
I am thinking you mean 18-10-10 (big diff.).
BTW, you mention age, but also say they are flowering already.
Does that mean your light schedule is 12/12 or are you saying that just due to the age?

Definitely nute burn.

The solution is simple.... Flush for 1-2 weeks with clean water, ph level 6.5. Flush every 2-3 days.

Once the plant recovers, cut the nutrient dose in half.... if you are using liquid fertilizers. If you are growig in soil that comes with slow release fertilizers, transplant that lady into a soil mix that does not have srf.

Good Luck! That lady is going to be ok!

Thanks guy for all the info! I want to be clearer so i can get more help!:

- Growing 2 Auto Lowryder #2 (Auto Flowers after two-three weeks?)
- I'm using 8 23 watt CFLS (3 6500k and 5 2700k)
- Miracle Grow soil (.18 - .10. - 10)
- Never used any nutes yet, only water (don't know the ph)

I plan on buying a ph meter at home depot unless there is a better option around $20 (I'm on a budget). I want to try to save them as fast as possible! I don't have the same fertilizer options around here in Canada( went to Lowes, Canadian Tire, Home Depot, Home Hardware). I plan on going to my local hydroponics store tomorrow (closed on mondays) and i hope they are open on Christmas Eve! I've noticed that it's only the fan leaves that are turning yellow. The bottom leaves that are growing bud are still green. I forgot to mention that I'm running on 18/6 lighting. I read that its the best light schedule for auto plants. Also, is it okay that leaves are pointing towards the light?
