help making a super stealth box

Hey clever stoners everywhere, I'm super interested I'm making an ultra stealth box I can fit in my closet or attic. I know what pc grow boxes are and am looking in how to make them. But anything you guys have used that's about 2 feet higand worked well? Also what are some good lights to start off with? Im a super noob with indoor growing but have growing knowledge. Please help, thanks guys

micro grows are a waste of time...12-14 weeks to grow out a half ounce...better off just buying it man with the money your going to spend on lights, electric and medium.

if you can somehow do a steakth dresser grow it may be worth it but PC cases are rediculesly small and the only chance you have at a decent yeild is a mini ScROG

What's a mini scrog?

i agree with matt when i did my stealth speaker box grow it seemed like a waste of time for a half oz. but now that ive realized i can use the box to grow mother plants and clones out for my outdoor grow in the summer it seems like the greatest idea ever. i also use it to breed strains in the fall so i can keep new genetics up. really id suggest if your going to do a stealth grow it be a sog or scrog best way to get a nice yield with small space. id recommend just building a box with a door that'll give you a nice amount of room and then sliding a cardboard box over it to cover the random wooden box up in the attic. make sure you leave holes for ventilation.

if youve got a couple dollars to spend on lights make your self T5Ho fixture. use aquarium bulbs for corals and keep the lights 2" way from foliage youll get some nice results man with out wasting much energy at all!

Well, there is a minimum size below which it probably doesn't make sense to grow, but since this poster is talking about closet and attic, he probably has a bit of space to work with.

PC grows are mostly a college dorm stunt, I think. Note that mini SCROG is pretty much assumed, and you can get more than half an ounce from one if the setup and strain are good, and you know what you are doing.

To answer the original question, its a bit open ended.

First figure out how much space you have to work with, and what your budget is.

Those things will determine what lighting system is appropriate. Alternatively, you can decide how much you want to grow, then how much light you'll need to make that yield, then build a system around the light to achieve it.

In GENERAL, figure *optimal* lighting is 70W HID per square foot, or maybe 100W sq-ft for flurorescent lights and take it from there

First big step is to figure ou what the mission is.

Are you expecting to keep yourself supplied year round with this grow?

or

Is this just a fun project to do since you have the time and means?

A lot of work goes into a grow... And like others have pointed out, small grows produce small amounts....
Damn near the same amount of work (especially when you are new) as it would take to flower a whole room... Same time too....

but shit is fun!!!
and if you do it "right" (by the plant) you will be so proud!!! And wishing you had made it just a little bit bigger...lol....

the kind of lights that you use will dictate a whole other host of equipment... And trust me, it will cost more than you think to do it right...

ventilation becomes critical in small places...

Another thing is to stick to Indica Strains and tie them down so they grow wide and not tall... Ive had plants that when they were DONE, they measured 6" tall and 16" wide... LST (low stress training) is a necessary tool in small grows....

I'm a college student and I have an attic and a small space inside my closet, my attic space I can work with isn't that big. It's exactly 2 feet and 4 inches tall, 2 feet wide. And another thing to condsider os that i'd be more than content with a half ounce to start with, i don't care at this point I just want it to be successful. I have to speakers that are 20 inches tall and 8 inches wide and 6 inch im depth.

So you really want to do this...

regardless of your grow space, you will need to train your plants to stay low...
I recommend you start with clones if at all possible... You can flower a clone much smaller than the youngest mature plant from seed...

if your only option is seed, things are gonna be a little more difficult but not impossible..

are you wanting to do just one grow or will you want to continue?

eventually you will want to work only with clones, as you will have small, but mature 100% females..

once we get the plant situation figured out, we will talk about the growspace and the equipment...

Right now I will have to start from seed. I plan on getting 2 or 3 grows ouy of this future "stealth box" then buy a bigger system. You gotta spend money to make money, I'm going to grow tahoe OG from cali connections, idk of that helps at all. Super eager mr.Cali!

I'll look into that strain, but basically you will want to do some heavy training, and force flowering very early...

I have had some good success with 12/12 from seed, and thatnis probably what you should do...

Plants get big before they mature... That's why clones are so nice...

could we do a veg grow with all your seeds and set up a separate cab for flowering clones off those plants in veg?

That seems like a winning plan to me...

simple stuff, just a cab with some fluoros... Sex them, clone them, flower the clones... No height issues...

next we need to think about lighting... The better lights for growing put out a lot of heat...

so the better the light, the better the exhaust/ventilation has to be...

what were you thinking? Cfls or hps?

if you do not know what they are, I recommend a quick search...

if you got a lil money to set it up right, you could use a 150w hps in a cooltube... But like I said... You will not be anle to skimp on fans...

Ok gypsy, I was thinking 125w cfl. I'm only going to start with one plant first. I have the shell of my box all hollowed out. It's a speaker. Plenty of room in the guy for a small set up. Let's start off with lighting since its one of the most crucial of not the most crucial part of growing... How would I mount a small light strip at the top of the speaker?

Im currently doing a PC grow and while it maybe cool, the man has a point, this is a waste of time. You are not going to get enough out of it to support your needs. If you are going to put time and effort into anything buy a grow tent or build your own, yes the initial investment is expensive but it pays for it self over time.

But if you want to experiment like my self then go for it. Be warned it is a waste of time and yes for the amount of smoke I might get out of it when its done, I could have just rolled my happy ass someplace and gotten it.

So.... I'm going to start this Fucker up. It's just going to be a little fun project and ill end up with a half ounce. I'll start a new thread and post pics
