^^^HELP ME BUILD A 4000w GROWROOM^^^ ++REP

I want to flip flop 4 quantum 1000w ballasts for 2 flowering rooms. 4 xxxl 8" in each with digilux 1000w hps bulbs.

I ended up ordering a powerbox dp-15000 that can control 10 ballasts. With a powerbox lsm-12 to flip flop 4 of them.

I also found the cap air 4 - co2 and enviromental controller.

It all seems to do what I want hopefully

OK Doc, I got here a little late but I'm sub'd. Lets get this room built!

First things first.
CAP & Powerbox both make great controllers. Powerbox is more like a Mercedes and CAP a Toyota. I got my 15000 for $589 delivered. In the future I'd pay the extra $100 and get the hot start delay. CAP offers both a Dual Trigger & Single Trigger model as far as controllers go.

I want you to know from experience about Magnum hoods & Digilux bulbs. First and foremost there is alot of hype surrounding these new large reflectors. They pale in comparison in terms of penetration and you actually lose alot of lumens due to the light traveling so far and wide (ESPECIALLY in the 8"). Trust me when I tell you you are much better off with a smaller reflector (think Daystar or SuperSun II). The Digilux bulbs are NOT living up to the hype. I have seen them in action tested side by side with Hortilux, PlantMax, Ultrasun, Eiko, Agrosun & Ushios. The proof is in the pudding and Hortilux wins by a mile. The Digilux's FOR A FACT do not deliver nearly as many lumens as they claim. They are flat out LYING. Dude please believe me when I tell you I have tried them ALL. Off all the setups here is what has worked best after EXTENSIVE testing:

Quantum Ballasts ($250) x4 = $1000
DayStar 6" A/C reflectors ($125) x4 = $500
Premium bulbs ($79) x4 = $316
Powerbox DPC-15000 ($589) CAP MLC8XT ($211) x1 = $589 or $211

Total: $2405 (powerbox), $2027 (CAP)

There goes most of the budget right there. We still need Ferts, Medium, Filters, Fans, Co2, Containers, Cloning Supplies, Water Purification, PH/PPM Meters, Pumps, etc.

Oh and if you INSIST on getting the Magnum's get the Raptor from HydroFarm instead. Bigger and it is sealed MUCH better. The gaskets don't leak like on the magnums. Co2 and odors are sucked out of the room with the magnums.

Hey bro, I'm absolutely positive your grow will cost you way more than $300-400 per month. Probably more like $800-1000 depending on your cooling efficiency. There is a user on you tube and she was running a 600 HPS 12/12 and a 400 MH on veg with cfls for clones and air conditioning with exhaust fans and air cooled hoods. Her bill averaged 350-400 per month and the peak was 600, but she lives in Riverside, CA. Hot as hell in the summer. If you live where its colder, it might cost you a lot less.

2000 watts with ac and co2 might yield a decent amount allowing you to upgrade your equipment 2 months after you put your clones in veg. Plus use a indica dominant hybrid that will bud fatter and sooner.

Lumateks are more highly regarded ballasts, but they do cost more than quantums.

EBAY should be your 1st place you look for light weight items. Hoods might not be worth having them shipped. Some retailers on ebay have lumatek 1000's for around $300. My Sentinel CPPM-1 CO2 controller was $435 shipped.

I have been gone for a minute sorry about that guys just been doing a lot of reading, research and just going over everything. The plan has changed guys. instead of running 4 1000's i am going to run 4 600's. so for one that is gonna cut down on the cost a lot and my power consumption.

I found out my kwph i get charges 6.5 cents per kwhr. so thats a start. I have about a little less than $2500. i found a guy on ebay to sell me 2 complete digital air cooled systems for about $175 a system so that fuckin awsome. so right now i am concerned on vegging all of my genetics. so i am going to veg all of the plants under 1200 watts. buy everything i need minus the 2 extra 600's i will need for flowering and then about March go ahead and get the other 2 lights. so im not gonna run co2 right now. i just cant afford it but i will get a system later this year. so i need...

1. timers for running 4 600's (does not have to be top of the line, just something to switch on/off)
2. temperature controller for fans.
3. 8'' fan and scrubber
4. pots, coco, nutrients and all of the rugular nick nacks.

I just finished building a 4k watt light room it cost under 3k to build. The room was 10X8X8. I had 30 plants flowering each plant averaged around 3oz so in the end got about 6lbs. Here is the breakdown on what I spent it on.

4k vented lights 250 x 4 = $1000
2 6 inch inline fan = $150
Ductwork = $40
Carbon scrubber and carbon= $200
2 Industrial air pump= $100
CO2 generator = $300
CO2 controller = $200
Water pump = $70
Hydroton grow rocks = $100
Net pots = $70
Custom shallow water culture hydro build = $400
EC and PH meter = $150
Flouresent lights 8 shop lights for veg = $120
Misc rubbermaid tubs for rez and clones = $50

Total of $2950

My bill for the electricity is about $300 a month. I veg the plants for a month, i take cuttings when the new plants go into flower. I let them get there roots takes around 14 days and then put them into netpots for vegging for a month under the flouro's. They get around a 12-16 when they get put into the flower room. When the flower room is finished the get cut and the plants that have been vegged get put directly in the grow room only 1 day interruption for the chop.

I use CO2 and keep the ppm at around 1500 during flower. I vent my lights with a 6 inch inline fan. I also have another 6 inch inline fan that is connected to the carbon scrubber, you can't smell anything in my house at all. Same thing with the outside you don't smell a thing. I grow in hydro and i would highly recommend you go on some sort of H2O2 regiment to keep your roots healthy. You never want to go through root rot that could ruin your crop, trust me i've gone through this and it sucks. All i had to do was put my rez on a H2O2 regiment and it was the best thing i've ever done. 6.5 cents/kwh seems low. I live where the electricity isn't expensive and I pay 3.5 cents/kwh for the first 500 kwh and 7.82 cents per kwh for everything over 500kwh. There is also a fuel charge for all the electricity, it is 3.65 cents/kwh. so after 500 kwh i pay 11.47 cents/kwh. Just something to think about. Make sure that you are not being charged a fuel charge.
