Help me decide on an air cooled reflector

First grow went great with CFL's, now I'm buying HID lighting...

Already purchased a 6 inch inline fan (500cfm) with carbon filter and speed controller, venting hot air into my attic.

Now I'm on to purchasing my lights and reflector.

For a ballast I was going to go with a 400w Quantum Ballast. I keep reading debates between digital and magnetic... I think I'm going with digital because the price difference is minimal if at all, and I'd like less heat. Still debating but that's where my mind is headed in relation to a ballast.

Now the air cooled hood. My closet is 2ft deep, 7ft wide, and the ceilings are 9ft tall... I'm not expecting one light to fill that entire space, I was going to use the center of the closet so I'm guessing a 4 ft wide area in the center will be for the plants. I've been reading nonstop about air cooled reflectors. And like many other things in the growing world, it's all subjective. I've looked at the Radiant 6 inch, The C.A.P LumenAire 6 inch, looks like there is a knock off of the lumenaire too, xtreme lumenair 6 reflector. I've looked at the Easy Cool 6 as well... So many, and the prices range a lot too.

Does anybody have an recommendation for my size closet and which reflector would be best? Right now I feel like it's hit or miss, some people love certain hoods, and others complain about the glass not being tight against the hood and causing leaks, etc.

All opinions welcome, not trying to spend over $120-$150 on a hood, but I also don't want shit so if I have to spend more I will... And obviously no BIG hoods because I only have 2 ft of depth to work with here.

600w in a cooltube on a lightrail would cover your space perfectly.
Craigslist is a great place to get good equipment cheep. Alot of growers start and buy expensive equipment and then stop.

What about having to clean the lens on the cool tube? Is it a PITA? I'm clueless and just basing my opinion on what i've read other people bitch about, and a lot of people bitch about cool tubes and say if you have the money to get a regular air cooled hood.

So would you guys say that for my space a cooltube would be better? This is the type of info I can find nowhere... People say air cooled hoods are better, but I've only got 2 feet of depth so do the range of an air cooled hood even matter?

i got no clue whats better, my cooltube gets me an average of an oz per plant under a 400w and im going onto my 3rd grow. im sure i can get more as i keep learning. i do know a cooltube would work for your space, i got about 1.5ft of width

I was able to get 4.7 Oz off my last plant... Using about 16 CFL lights... I'll look into cooltubes a bit more and see what I can find. Still looking for opinions on Air Cooled Reflectors though if anybody cares to join in.

I vegged for a month and then flowered for a little over 2 months I believe. She was a BIG bitch, 4 ft in all directions... Tough to manage that with CFL's but let me tell you, it's a damn good smoke. It made me stop smoking during the day it was so strong lol.

Also, should I go with 400 watt, or 600 watt. My only concern with 600 watt is heat. With what I have already bought (6 inch inline fan at 500 cfm and carbon filter venting through insulated ducting to the attic, and passive intake) do you guys think I could keep my closet cool enough to run a 600 watt system. My house is never hotter than 73 degrees.

Hot shit. I just came up on a deal I could not pass on. Amazon Warehouse Deals, new but damaged packaging, guaranteed to to be in excellent condition.

[h=1]New iPower (Premium Black) Dimmable 600 Watt HPS + MH Digital Grow Light W/ 6" Air Cooled Hood Plant Growing Light Lamp. Digital HPS MH Ballast + HPS Bulb + Air Cool Reflector + Timer + Pair Yoyo[/h]
All for $170.59 with free shipping. And if there is anything wrong with it I just return it to Amazon. Figured it was worth the risk for the price. I guess I'll see how this hood works and judge from here the best hood if this one doesn't work good.
