Help me design my growroom!

Hey guys! I was wondering if anyone wanted to help me lay out some plans for a 12 by 12 ft grow room. I hope to get around 1-2 lbs a month so i really need your guys expertise.

Either describe the setup (lights, wattages, and etc.) or sketch it out in paint or something.

your gona need at least a 1000 watt or 2 600 watt lights a mother/veg room an alota work. keep us posted

Definately a mother/veg/clone area.. with T5s or MH.. or both. It is recommended that you use 50w of light/sq ft.. for a 12x12 that would be 7200w of lighting. I assume you want to be able to move around inside, so half of the room (6x12) would need 3600w of lighting to be sufficient. (IMO 3000w) Minimum 700 cfm air exchange. Environmental controls.. CO2? Hydro or soil? Nutrients? Really depends on your budget. That would help. Hope this helps!

Yeah i will be using another closet/room to clone and root plants.
I will probably start with soil, and convert to a hydro setup after a few cycles too.


I presume i should get an indica dominant strain as well?
Does anyone have any suggestions?

From whats been said you could get 3K lights in there and still be confortable to move around. Probably run 3 3X3 trays, one each under a 1K hps.
Other then that

Ventilation - nothing special here figure an 8incher *should* be enough for the lights but may need more.
Cooling - probably the biggest issue, need more info on the location to know. An AC would pretty much handle whatever.

Is this 12x12 room for budding only? or do you want to do everything in this room? How many lights do you plan on having for budding? Are there any windows/places to exhaust air and bring in fresh air? Do you want to run an open or closed loop? co2?

If you want that weight per month you will need a separate area for vegetation and cloning. look into light track systems. These are tracks that slowly move your lights around your room. They are decently priced and make the most use of your lights. If I were planning on lighting that room i would do it with three 1000w hps bulbs on light movers. Good luck! Building your own grow space is the best way to grow imo. Some planning ahead of time will make things much easier. Think about ventilation and equipment mounting and placement options before you build. Respect

you may wana get something with sativa grow paterns but indica riping time. In my experiance indica you want some veg time. i got a super skunk (from a buddy not 100% sure its real but looks like it from pictures and growth patterns) But any ways theres a dude on here named thundercat, done some cool stuff with white widow. 9 week cycle cutting 10 plants every 3 weeks at roughly 30gs a plant with a 2 week veg time. hes basicly using the al b fuct method customized to his setup. keep us posted with how your doing. have a growtastic day.
