Help me design my room(s), If you want.

So I've just recently finished moving and it's now time to get started, going to steal some room from my garage for my plants.

The spot I'm going to be using is 10ft x 5ft x 8 feet tall - 10 feet long 5 feet wide, going to split the room length wise to make two 5x5 rooms, veg and flower. I have a list in my head of some stuff that I'm going to be getting, but I have not purchased anything yet. This will be my first real room with proper intake/exhuast/temps/humidity etc. As perfect as I can make it.

As for what I actually NEED for a room of this size, I don't actually know. How much air should my fans move for rooms this size, what W o lights should I get - should I bother getting vented cool tubes for said lights.

Also I'm only looking to do 5 plants each room. If that matters.

Pretty much my question is, if this was your room what would you put into it? I can get more or less anything pretty cheap so, skies the limit.

Calculate your rooms cubic feet.

So 5 x 5 x height
Assuming 7, 5 x 5 x 7 = 175 cubic feet.

You want an exhaust fan that can cycle the air completely at least once every couple of minutes. I prefer once every minute, or around that rate. So you'll be looking for a ~175 CFM fan.

My fav. lights are 600w HPS/MH. I recommend two in the flowering room, one kept at HPS, the other MH for spectrum benefit. For your veg room, you can make due with much less light. LEDs are great for veg, so are CFLS. HID systems work well also, but you typically don't need that much juice for vegging.
I'm running a 600w in a 2x2 area right now and it's borderline overkill but the plants LOVE it.

Best of luck!

8 foot ceilings so were looking at 200sqft to move. What I don't understand is, why not veg under a MH? I have my mother plant under fluros and cfls and it's doing fine, but under a MH from stable clones wouldn't you just end up with bigger plants before flower starts getting bigger plants before the stretch making you get even more yield after everything is done? Or am I just missing something here.

MH is great for veg, but CFLs have a broader spectrum I believe, and produce much much less heat therefore reducing stress on young plants. If you have an MH to use for veg and are okay with the increased elec bill, use that shit.
