Help me diagnose my fluffy bud problem!

Hey everyone,

So I harvested at 8 weeks yesterday, the pistils are mostly all amber and the trichomes from what I could see through a 40X magnifying glass were white/cloudy. The buds seem airy and leafy, so whats up? My grow room is a second bedroom I use, I grew three plants under a 400W Metal halide/HPS light with two 50 watt CFLs supplementing it. Temps at 70F, I don't have ventilation since it's such a big room it doesn't heat up. Here are my pics of the buds, they look crystally with trichomes but fluffy and leafy as shit, thoughts??

How close is your light? Also what is the strain? Sativa's and Sativa leaning plants tend to have less dense buds opposed to indicas. What did you feed with? Organic, hydro? All of these factors play a role in bud size/density.

Did you use seaweed/kelp liquid extract during every feeding?
This is what gets buds dense.

I would say not enough light. I ran my 400 at 8" from the plants and anything over 16" always came out as LARF

They don't look to bad for a 400 watt light. My bet is 2 fold. Did you add any supplements for hardening or such like a gravity, high carb feed during flower? How many fans did you have going moving the air as you really need good air movement and to refresh the air around the grow area. If you didn't keep real good air flow and air exchanges you can get a less dense bud and also strain plays into it also.
