"High" to you all.
I'm 67, Canadian male and living in the S.Ont. area and I have been an occasional toker for years. That was for the BUZZ. Now my situation is different and I need to learn quite a bit. I have never bothered to read about or learn the finer points of pot until mid Aug. when I got a tummy ache that I thought was a hernia or appendix and went to emerg . 3 surgeries, 4 scopes and 33 days later I was discharged--28 lbs lighter with an ostomy bag to contend with. The reason was COLON CANCER. Surgeon says she got it all and there is no VISIBLE cancer cells left ?? Next step was to schedule the Cancer Clinic for what they call adjuvent treatment that will take care of any cancer cells not visible to the naked eye. First thing I did was go online and read up on CHEMO. My take on it, after some research was to ask why? Why would I put more poison in me that will make me SICKER in order to get well without any guarantee , or as the oncologist stated "Chemo is a crap shoot" and there is no way to tell if there are any cancer cells left that can migrate thru my body.?? That's when I started to do some research on alternatives and the one that has stuck in my mind over Chemo, along with real eye openers such as Big Pharma and Government(s) role in Cancer Care/CURE, is the marijuana plant and what it contains, a much safer self treatment-Hemp Oil. I believe the term Hemp Oil is used for legal reasons at the site mentioned in the next paragraph.
Then I hit on a site regarding a man named Rick Simpson and his story of Run From The Cure, the bottom line of which is HEMP OIL

I've read reams of stuff on the topic and i am convinced that Rick and many others the WORLD over are on to something. So I want to follow his procedure, or learn of another method of starting with good pot and extracting the oil. Rick's method is starting with a pound of good Indica so that's what I want to do. "GROW YOUR OWN " seems to be the best advice I can find and that was re-inforced by the reminder of how many times i got ripped off by buying crap on the street . I've read a lot and decided, after reading many threads on numerous sites, that I would focus my questions with you all.
So --I'm hoping I can get help trying to accomplish what I wrote above and consequently have a better chance at a quality of life that would be destroyed/distorted by Chemo/Radiation. I can follow instructions and I have a big old house where I could discreetly set up an area to grow. I need instruction on everything needed to get a personal small grow op set up at home that will yield me a pound of top quality Indica pot from seed. According to the method Rick Simpson swears by, a pound should yield (+/-) 60Grams which is where I would like to get to on my first go at it.
My intro is a bit long and I apologize but I thought it best to explain where i am coming from and those interested would be in a better position to reply.
Thanks to all who took the time to read my long winded entry and I look forward to some positive feedback.
Cheers
