ok. i have several indoor grows under my belt with a variety of strains...i think im ready to make an attempt at outdoor growing.
i have a bunch of seeds stocked up (about 250 beans in all)
so im going to take some of them (especially my own accidental cross from over a year ago) and plant them...
my issue is:
i live in a pretty urban area so my choices of places to grow are limited. more than likely im going to attempt this an area that many would probably consider undesirable as i cant afford to travel far enough out into the country and maintain routine visits to maintain the grow.
so since that puts me at a huge disadvantage i plan on growing these things out as cheaply as possible as i realize i have a better chance of getting ripped than harvesting those babies. still its a new adventure i wanna try. last year (around sept) i was kicking my own ass wishing i at least made the attempt. so this year is it.
so far here are my plans:
A) water them in the dead of nite (with help of a navigator/lookout/extra pair of hands/ decoy...) yes i said decoy. my plan is to send someone else up to the grow everyday i visit FIRST. they will go without any supplies or equipment. this way if LE's are in the area and attempt to bust them they will have little to stand on in court...this can also tip me off to rippers in the area...
B) not use any pots or leave any supplies hidden nearby (no bags, no fertilizers, no lines, no pumps no nothing.) just plants in the ground. i intend on planting them straight into the ground (even though many will say plant them in pots/name brand soil first). this way nothing will stick out to helicopters or passerbys.
so far i dont have too much else figured out about it.
i plan on packing the water in myself as i doubt ill find a spot near a natural water source that isnt out in the open. dont worry i wont be planting in rows either...ideally inbetween bushes and trees...to try and make the pot plant look like an extension of a bush thats already there.
my question is this...when growing outdoors how often must they be watered (with food or just plain water) currently (indoors) i water once during the week of just plain water and once with food (so twice per week or every 3-4 days).
will i need to water more often or less generally? keep in mind temps easily hit 100F here in dead of summer. also if i just plant them in the ground how MUCH water will each plant require (on average) per watering? this will determine how many i can grow as i cannot pack in 30 gal of water twice a week. it just isnt gonna happen.
any tips appreciated
thank you.
