I have two Sour D clones that were getting too big for the two small lights i had....so i bought two 2700k cfls to mix my spectrum and bought two splitters to have two bulbs per clamp...

Annyway, i had to remove the reflector that came with the clamp lights and now the light disperses everywhere... given my setup, how should i place the lights to maximize leaf absorption?

Imagine two clamp lights with two bulbs each if you cant tell from the pics...first two are old setup, last two are new setup...

Plus rep for the help, thanks guys

place a tinfoil box like the kind you use for a turkey and cut a whole about the size of the base so that the 3lights fit inside and aim it on your pots.

Most of the light will come from the sides of the bulb and not the ends. Reflectors might not help all that much with CFLs because of strike-back and the fast rate of fall-off of the light.

Extension cords and plug in sockets, then splitters

really? even number of leaves is male and odd is female unless it hermie? i don't think that is true because i had a male with odd number leaves i think it depends more on the strain then the sex. the way you tell if it is male or female is changing the light cycle until you see hairs/balls hairs =female balls = male. simple enough right?

No, that's just something I saved because it was so comical at the time, but I guess I shouldn't use it, because you're the second one in 2 days to ask that, and I don't want people thinking I actually believe that shit.

Actually using reflectors with cfls in the standard position helps quite a bit. I know this for a fact since I have a light meter and have tested this for myself.

I would suggest that the op make some fort of enclosure (small tent, box, cabinet, etc..) to keep the light contained. A lot of it is getting away without the use of the reflectors.

Most of the mild will come from the edges of the light and not the finishes. Reflectors might not help all that much with CFLs because of strike-back and the quick amount of fall-off of the mild.

Tin foil reflects heat, not light.... Use mylar, it reflects light...not heat
