alanboy..lemme give you some advice...you have 2 options ..either undercut everyones price and grow twice as much or grow higher quality.

In washington I am allowed 15 plants and 24oz dried. I cherish the ability to do this so I make sure
I stay within plant count and under even when cloning. There is no crying medical marijuana.

That's because everyone these days thinks they're gonna strike it rich with their own grow :) I got a buddy who's working on just that himself in CA and it's tough for him as well. On the other hand if you're legal and your shit blows the other guys doors off I'm sure someone's going to take some weight off your hands -- if you got the same stuff as everyone else you're just another dude with a garden. I can't even imagine living in a world where I can go to a store and buy the variety of weed, seeds, or clones of my choosing. You guys are livin' the dream from my viewpoint.

^^ like charface... not sure what happened to the like link... bastards

i'd love more than 15, but i can definitely get by on that :) i could easily grow seven different strains at a time once i have keepers selected and always have a perpetual flower going. I could easily pull 24 from 7. 24 will last me a year at normal use... but with that kind of supply i can play with hash, edibles, all kinds of fun stuff... sell an occasional lb for some new equipment (new LEDs here I come)

I already have blackstars and am happy with them. I'm guessing by the time I'm in WA and can afford some new ones, all the manufacturers are gonna be offering 5w leds so will probably pick one of those to step up to maybe... though really, with the lights I have I can probably produce my allowed weight so not sure why I'd want to get new ones :) The old ones are probably gonna wear out eventually though I'm sure.

Spokane has nice surrounding areas, but i'm not really a big fan myself. Don't have much experience in the tri cities area but they are both options if thinking of somewhere on the west side of the mountains.

I guess I should mention one thing about washington. If you are a criminal move somewhere else.
If you get caught in the system they will run you ragged with probation requirments.
I got in trouble over 20 years ago and ended up getting out of jail.
Going to treatment, two aa meetings a week, comunity service hours, antibuse, call in daily to piss test
fines and a probation officer that loved to stop by and tear my house apart. They extended my probation
because I messed up. All in all if your clean its great but soggy

Thanks but no issues here I got a clean record... luckily have never been busted for anything, much less weed (which isn't to say I haven't gotten pulled over a) as I was smoking in the car or b) with a QP in the center console next to me... i'm just that good ;) ) -- probably shouldn't jinx myself, but I don't do that shit often these days

Former IT (CCNA, Network+, was working on ITIL, basic stuff,), though more management than hands on geek. Got way burnt out killing myself for a few start ups, and decided I want to do something I enjoy a bit more. I am also looking at possibly relocating out to WA as well, so I'll be following along on your thread :)

What I want to know is what are the grower friendly cities - cities that really are not going to mess with you as long as you stay in compliance. I'm going to try to either get my current company let me work remote (actually a pretty decent possibility as they have a lot of people who do) or find someplace that will let me, so geography may not be too big of a restriction. I looked at Vancouver, WA some tonight and can't make up what to think about that... it's appealing to be close to Portland but still have the advantages of living in WA (better mj laws IMO and no state income tax) over OR.

As best as I can tell from my research so far, you want to be West of the mountains. I have been looking at Tacoma and the surrounding area. Home prices seem to be pretty fair, and the people I know that live there have said that the cops are respectful, and worry about more important shit than a few plants. Of course, nothing says tomorrow is the same as today ;)

I'm with you on the no state income tax thing. That was one of the major reasons WA was on my short list of places to move :)

Microsoft is here in WA. Im sure you will land a job fast. Obviously would wanna live near work - SO Look near Bellevue.
its expensive. Im actually leaving. LOL I came here, got all I need. Alot of nice local shit and nice shit from BC comes down from time to time.
I grow awesome meds, Cant sell it more than 200, more like 160-170. oz
Not that I care, ill smoke the fuck outta it.
I dont grow for profit Just pleasure but had offers thrown at me before and It doesnt sound like anything Im used to hearing being from the east coast.
New bill might pass making some serious dampers here ...Consider that too. Ill never register to grow . Ill never buy weed from the govt either. Olympia wants in on this MMJ , they'll get what they want just hope its fair.

TOG TOG TOG..you poor man. WHAT PART OF WA ARE AND HOW MANY FRIENDS DO YOU HAVE? AND DO YOU EVEN KNOW WHAT THE SCENE IS LIKE IN THE MEDICAL MARIJUANA INDUSTRY. I DOUBT YOUR A VENDOR TO A CLUB AND HIGHLY DOUBT YOU TALK TO OWNERS OF CAMPASSION CLUBS TO GET AN IDEA OF HOW PRICES ARE OUT HERE WITH DONATING TO MIDDLE MANS AKA DISPENSARIES.
AND STFU ABOUT NAZIS THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO ABOUT THE TOPIC.
this guy is a tard, go to NWGT dot com and log in you will find all the resources you need

Washington and Oregon are great places to lay low and grow some ganja, and both my brother and dad are in IT systems management, and there is plenty of work in Bellevue and Seattle, Seattle being your weed paradise, as it has been decriminalized, and there are tons od Co ops/ dispensaries not clubs the clubs have been shut down, there are still some private co ops but they are few and far between as transparency is how most of the legit top shelf distribution spots work, the cali model doesnt work up here

I'm actually gonna try first to get a position at a consulting firm that'll let me work remotely and not on site so I can basically live whereever. That's the dream.

I live in the outskirts and its really nice. I can be in a small store in 5 minutes.
A wallmart town in 15 and portland Vancouver in 30. Or I can sit here in my yard
pissing on everything never worrying about no dudes seeing my junk. I have lived all over
and I couldnt live in the city but next to a city is brilliant.

Right on charface... that is where i moved now and the kind of area i want to move when I head west... on the outskirts... far enough out to see land not buildings everywhere, close enough to get to the conveniences of civilization in a short drive.

I work in the IT industry here in Seattle and have now for about 15 years, outside of Silicon Valley you won't find another location with more tech jobs. Even through the high unemployment rates of the last decade it has remained pretty easy to find tech work here as long as you are a bit above average from a skill standpoint and are not completely socially retarded as many IT people are. The area defined as the "East Side" which includes areas like Bellevue, Redmond, Issaquah, and Bothell will be the best places to look for work but you wont find that those areas have the friendliest medical Marijuana laws (They won't mess you for growing legally but they will if you are selling and they do not allow dispensaries.) The city of Seattle itself has the most relaxed city laws when it comes to Marijuana of any area in the state (you hear people talk about possession not being a crime in Washington, that is not true but it is inside Seattle city limits.) but who the hell wants to live in downtown Seattle? I think you will be able to find an area that suits your needs just fine but if you want access to medical Marijuana through dispensaries (I am talking clones, edibles, and dry meds) you will want to stay in the Seattle-Tacoma Metro area (From the Puget Sound on the west to as far east as Issaquah, and on the north from Marysville to Tacoma on the South end) unless you plan to make a long commute for both work and dispensaries.

If you want IT work and don't want to struggle looking for it you may as well just forget about Vancouver, and working in Oregon is not worth it unless you live in Oregon. However living in Oregon and working in Washington works out well for some people (these working/living scenarios are based on taxes.)
