Help me save my seedling

Hey guys, I tried growing for the first time ever this year. I planted one seed as a test straight into soil at the river, using the dirt already there. It sprouted a week later and for the last week hasn't grown at all.

I got sick of going all the way to the river so I transplanted it into some potting mix only today and have it under a light inside, should I put it out in the sun instead? Im not sure if the light is enough

Here are some pictures of the setup, please let me know if it will survive and if im doing anything wrong. Any help is hugely appreciated

Im not sure what type of light, but I took a photo of the bulb in the last picture. The light generates quite a bit of heat but would it do better in the sun?

It looks to be an incandescent, which is horrible for growing. Yes it would do better in the sun than under that bulb if it is an incandescent, but if you can get a couple 26 watt 6500k cfl bulbs that could keep the seedling happy for a while.

Would this be better for growing? I have 2 of them.

What temp is that spiral CFL? If it's 6500K it's perfect for vegging. 2700K is perfect for flowering. A 3:1 combo of the 2 is even better (3 6500K and 1 2700K to veg)

Light should not strike the roots. Duct tape around the root zones cures that prob. Those bottles work great if drain holes are good and they are taped.

It says on the pdf online about my bulb that:
Light Output * & Efficacy * = 1,300 lumen, 68 lm/W
Light Colour = 2700K, 5000K, 6500K

I have the 20W I think as it says 20W on the bulb and looks the same as in the picture.

Im not sure it it means they sell those types of light colours or can the light contain all 3? If so would that mean it would be a 2:2 combo of 2 2700K and 6500K lights[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]?[/FONT]

You can use that one but your gonna need atleast one 6500k and 5000k for best results in veg...the more lights the better with cfl's...one simply won't do it

And no clear pots because roots don't like light...if you can set it in a black bucket that would be your quick fix...also darker pots have more humidity in them because they absorb light

Oh I see, cheers mate ill duct tape them up now. I did make holes on each of the 5 little outward grooves on the bottom of coke bottles for drain holes which I hope will work.

Oh ok, I have a black bucket I can put it in, ill will do that but might leave it in the taped coke bottle until it gets stronger, don't want to cause anymore stress on it than I have already, im just worried ill kill my only remaining seedling

Agree on not overwatering - the #1 cause of death in plants cared for by man. Followed closely I'm quite sure by enthusiastic nutrient buyers if posts on RIU are any reflection of what is happening. "What's the matter with my babies?" It's usually "daddy" caring for them just a little too much in the wrong ways.

There is no way a plant that size will have roots reaching the edge of the container where sun can hit it. Transplanting right now is only going to cause more stress. Wait to ee if you can get it healthy again and then in a week or two transplant.
