so the plant started inside then i brought it outside and becasue it rained for 11 days straight i brought it in to save it and it seemed fine and now after about 4 or 5 weeks there are little flying bugs that go into the soil and then around night come out and land on the plant.I havent noticed any problem with the plant yet but i want to know if anyone can help me with something to buy to get rid of these bugs.If its hopeless thats fine ill toss it clean up and start again but if anyone has tips i would appriciate it.I think they might be nats but i can tell there just real small and fly around and then fly down and dig in the soil.................ANY THOUGHTS????

Gnats, get some sticky strips for fruit fly or put it back outside and let nature take care of them.

Here's what we did to solve out gnat problem.

1.) Dumped some sand on top of the soil so they can't dig into the soil no more.

2.) Put a couple drops of dish soap in a cup of water and put in all the plants. The soap will kill the gnats. You might have to do it more than once if you see em again.

3.) Something I read about but haven't tried since the soap and sand worked is to put chamomile tea in it. This kills the fungus that the gnats are eating in there.

Glad if I could help. Check out my grow in my sig :peace:

You can also use a light dilution of hydrogen peroxide in your water to kill off the fungus that the gnats eat. They are fungus gnats. It means that you are probably over watering (you probably picked them up outside, but because your soil is still constantly moist they are sticking around because there is still food for them). Kill the fungus and the bugs will go away.

The adults aren't harmful to your plants really. The babies in the soil will eat the hairs off your roots and kill your roots if you get a bad infestation of them.
