I have three green o matics going right now. i have one a week away from harvest and that one is doing the greatest. The other two i have are two weeks behind. I have a major problem with these little black bugs that live in the soil it seems. I have tried neem oil and it does not affect them at all. I had also used those sticky strips for flies and that attracted like a hundred of them and the problem lessened greatly. i put new ones up and the bugs keep increasing. There are hardly any bugs on the new strips. My one gom is greatly dwarfed in my opinion due to bugs. Any input would help me alot. I want to get a harvest out of the older two if it isn't to late. my stunted one seems to be dying and it's growing about half as fast as the other one. It also has alot more bugs.

You have fungus nats. Let the soil dry out and they will go away. Your doing the right things, yellow sticky strips and neem. One thing about neem is that it is not a knock down killer it takes time but does work on all bad bugs. Put a small fan so it blows over the tops of the pots to help dry them out.

You get them from over watering.

When preparing new soil it is best to sterilize with heat to ensure there aren't any parasites in the soil. Try transplanting the dying one and use double sided tape to keep the bugs from getting into the growing medium.

Thanks alot. I have a fan blowing on them, but it is a distance away, so i am going to move it closer. As for watering, i water them once a day. I have a 400 watt hps light over the plants and the room maintains a temperature of 75 degrees due to the fact it's cold where i live. I also have a dehumidifier in my growroom. Does this sound ok? This is only my second set of plants to grow. My first 4 were bagseed but 3 were male.

When I use cow manure I will go to a cow field and scoop up last years cow patties. I would not use manure from a barn because of the high urine levels in the manure.

Using shit from the barn is not the best as it will burn the plants roots. The urine is ok if diluted.

Most composted manures are safe to use and don't have bugs.

You should not need to water them every day that's why you got bugs. Let the top 2" dry out beforw watering and they will have nowhere to live.
