Ok, thats 85 lum/watt which is not great. If you wanna go the way of led lightbulbs try something that gets you over 120lums/watt or so. All lights will grow. But this setup is probably going to lack power in flower.

@hotrodharley:. Anything is upgrade from any LED screw in bulb. I have seen some nice MARS light grows. I think a good sticky for beginners would be a price range based guide to lightning. Maybe $0-50, $50-$100, $100-200, $200-500, $500-1000. We could probably come up with some awesome, tried and true, lighting budgets. Sometimes I forget the people who just want to grow one plant or are beginning a new hobby.

I notice your advice isn't anymore helpful. You're still talking bulbs and adding them.
Fair enough. But there a fair few growers growing with household led bulbs. Some of these bulbs are rated upto 130 lums / watt which for a warmwhite would be approx 130/320=40% efficiency. And thats with the plastic on. What light on amazon has a verifiable efficiency of 40% light output, at less than a $ per W of real power draw?
Household bulbs are under stringent testing standards for energy efficiency, what growlight from amazon are under any testing standard? Except for HLG.

Agreed you can make a decent grow light but you need an array of them. Like the low wattage CFL bulbs. But at what costs including parts and hassles?

$67 ^^ and includes the bulb. Hang it and plug it in.

The great thing about LED'S is that you never have to change the lamps. I use 3' LED strip lights for my vege area, $15 each at home depot.

Thank u guys u have been very helpful. This is my first attempt with indoor growing. Ima just add some more lights and just see how it does .it seems to be doing ok so far tho
