this is another reason to stop sraying plants by 4 weeks flowering, dont worry about this stuff making your meds toxic, theres are all natures own solutionsI live problems with powdery mildew and mold because of where I live. I don't have a great solution but I've been reading that some beneficial bacteria can be useful. I have not had much luck so far.
My concern with the copper stuff is it could get in the meds. I make extract with either oil or bho so if it's water soluble it will wash off
I have been using organic neem oil with great results. It will combat wpm as well as nasty bugs. My plants are so happy after a foliar spray of it. It's organic cold pressed neem oil made by potent growth. My ladies like it about once a week or 10 days. It's kinda necessary where I live cool wet and damp alot.I'm looking for inexpensive treatment for the white powder mildew that has appeared on a couple leaves ..

It was like $13 for a 4 oz bottle, a little spendy but I had to spring for it. I tired of fighting the nasty mite problem. And I hear ya bout $ I am poor as well, try mixing up a hydrogen peroxide and water solution I've done it before and it worked for PM, I just can't remember the exact ratio off hand but it was light I remember. Try a small spot at first and go from there. Good luckHow much does it cost? I'm not sure if I can afford to buy anything. I'm really looking for a household remedy that I can get rid of the wpm with. I've read that mixing baking soda and water with a small amount of liquid dish soap..and I saw vinegar and water mix ...I don't know.i took the couple of leaves that had the most wpm on them.. Now I'm trying to stop any further spreading
Huh, really? Well from my research I've done, azatrol is a derived artificial chemical from the natural neem seed. Cold pressed neem oil (which is not as refined azatrol) with a little citrus juice has been very effective against white powdery mildew with my plants in the past. As well as a great natural mitacide. I just speak from experience I've had with my plants, but hey everyone has there own style of growing, Right.neem oil is useless iIMO, ONLY THE EXTRACT FROM the seed that they make azatrol from is the key, the cold pressed stuff is used, by spider mites, to rinse thier mouths! lol
This Clown has gotta be A JOKE.sorry heres the use, read the label instructions and start using half, you can always bump up if needed, but thats a good rule of thumb for feeding and or spraying new substances on your plants, the reason for both sprays, i trusted friend from another site back in the day told me, like mites, that these are living organisms and they can get tolerant to one single product, so i would rotate products to be sure, once you get the PM in check, you will do this for preventatice maintenance monthly. have you ever sprayed your plants before? do you know not to spray in direct light? whats your humidity and airflow like? maybe one day if budget allows you can invest in a heppa filter for your intake? you will find spending a dollar in preventing issues will save you hundreds when these probles crop up. so relax, and stay safe and have fun,! be well
Neem oil is a " fungicide " and insecticide ... It WILL KILL PM.
However it is not recommended to spray on flowering plants ( weed ) as it affects taste of final product. Most are OMRI certified organic use. I made a 50/50 mix in a spray bottle set to FINE spray. And sprayed on vegging plants . PM thrives in dry hot conditions.
You can PREPARE your plant by doing a simple rinse off with water. Once that drys off hit it with the spray. Spores are ineffective when wet. You may have to use for up to 7-14 days. Not only does it kills PM it acts as an insecticide against other shit.
I don't know your setup / how many plants , etc.
but if you can pull a plant to treat then you can do this easily. When you have many plants or trapped in a SCROG then it is a bit more difficult to treat all of them.
DIY :
1. Baking Soda / water / 2-3 drops of dawn . This also acts as an insecticidal soap.
and can aid with mites .
2. Alcohol / water - same 50/50 mix ( rubbing alcohol or EVERCLEAR) .
This mix works well to kill shit on contact PLUS DRIES FAST. It kills the shit out of
bugs too. EVERCLEAR is my preference as this is food grade alcohol ( grain alcohol)
This is one of my favorite DIY mixes ... Add a couple of drops of dawn or cooking oil
And you made a solution that clings to leaves longer without hurting plant.
3. Milk / Water mix : 10:1 mix ( another DIY ) for PM ( have not tried it but many have ) .
4. Daconil - ( off the shelf - few dollars at lowe's/ Home Depot) .... Good shit for the garden. BUT SPRAY BOTTLE SUCKS - solution is thick and does not spray well.
I had to get a small spray bottle ( hair / comb section ) for like a dollar , added Daconil with a little water ( just to ease the spraying ) and use on the leaves. It can leave a slight residue that can be wiped or washed off later.
Just remember that your grow area will need to be cleaned and then cleaned again as spores will be everywhere after harvest. I had to clean tent top to bottom , then blast Lysol all over inside / vents / ducts / lights to finally get a foothold on it. As soon as you see the shit starting , don't wait . [/QUOTE
I totally agree with what budzabudda
I'm going to get a bottle of the Dr. ZymesAlong the same line as baking soda, there’s Dr. Zymes. This is a critic acid based product that changes leaf ph. Excellent product and you can spray all the way through flower of you have to. Also works in different concentrations for insects and as a cleaner. Very safe.
