Help my lemon skunk is retarded? PICS please help diagnose

DSC00419.jpgDSC00416lines.jpgI had this growing under a 400 watt MH and for some reason the third tier of leaves grew out but that was it, a week later a 'mutant' branch grew and that was the new top stem why did this happen? It is kind of hard to explain... the picture with the lines shows the black line is originally the top of the plant but it ended up just being a fan leaf. the red stem appeared after a few days and that is where the top of the plant is now...so what happened why would it do this??

Def got some weird branching going on. Seedlings sometimes throw a few odd leaves and branches. Its likely a genetic trait of the strain. What breeder did you acuire the seed from? Ive had some really mutant plants look like that and turn out awesome.

Ive been growing greenhouse lemonskunk for a few grows. Never had that happen with mine. I dont think its going to hurt anything though. Youll have 2 tops instead of 1. An excellent strain.. Love lemon skunk. It does look nice and healthy aswell. Id keep it.

Thanks my worries are gone, gonna be interested to see what this girl is gonna look like, I'm glad it isn't something bad. I am really excited for this grow - ever since i went to amsterdam i have been in love with several greenhouse strains, lemon skunk being one and the super lemon haze of course. I'm starting a journal with this grow soon so everyone can see how this plant will turn out (got greenhouse el nino and cheese and sour cream going too).

probably because they're a fem seed... hermaphroditic breeding can produce some unstable pheno-types some times, all depends on the batch of seeds.
if you're gonna grow from fem seed it's a good idea to grow all 5 seeds, and pick the best, and strongest female to be a mother. It's proven that fem seeds hermi easier. I try to stay away from them, unless thats the only way to get that strain.
