I think the buds are growing too big! Should I flush, or tie this giant cola up with a piece of string?? It looked done a couple weeks ago, but now it's pushing tons of new flowers, and now it's so heavy... I leaned against another cola to prop it up. Do you think she's going to be alright? :mrgreen:

They aren't ready, but close. I checked this morning, and she only has a few amber trichs on a few of the tops. The trichs are mostly cloudy. I'm thinking another week, then 3 days darkness before harvest, but maybe longer. I'm really looking for a narcotic stone

DJ says 65 days, but that's under 1000watters

You know what's funny is I trimmed the other side of that cola, because it got singed on the lamp, and now it's pushing all those new flowers!

I can't recommend pruning buds, but it makes me wonder :?:

They look ready to me mate, the buds are a nice golden brown mate i think its time to harvest them babys. you could always leave it another week to see if the buds fatten up a bit more but i would harvest them now.

BTW looks like you got some nice dense buds there let me know the total yield dude

Thanks neverstoned, DJ Shorts is the bomb. I grew some bagseed along side these and there is no comparison, weightwise.

I know they look done, but the trichs haven't turned... I have to go by the book because I know most people harvest too early. If I find later that I let it go too long, I'll be rethinking everything I thought I had learned, but leaves browning really doesn't say anything about the bud ripeness.

Just use a stake or dowel to prop them up.

And don't give them 3 days of darkness while the buds are still on the plant. The only reason you give your plants 12-24hrs of darkness before harvest is to ensure that the nutes/starches have all drained down to the roots. Cut your plants before the lights come on so it doesn't draw up all the stored stuff from its roots and you will be fine.

this is true always look at the trichs, it does make you wonder about pruning when you menioned about the singeing, i read somware that occasinally a little stress fool the plant into going into production overload;-) or it will just kill it:-?PEACE:eyesmoke:

Yeah a bamboo stake would work, but I was too lazy to go to the garage, so I just tied it up with some wire :lol: I think she's gonna make it.

Bricktop (RUI Vet) says 3 days of darkness helps the trichs fill to their fullest, so I'm doing an experiment on another plant, just to see if there really is a difference, between the buds I already took off, and the rest of the plant that will be left in darkness for 72 hrs. I'll definitely let y'all know how it turns out.

I never knew about the 72 hours thing. I'm going to try that out. I like a narcotic stone to. Nothing worse than bud that makes you think to much.

Well you can go ahead and give it a try, but I doubt it will do anything for you. The only reason to give your plants a dark period is the reason I mentioned last time.

Why would your trichs fill to their fullest with no light? If they did that then you would think that a plant grown under a 250watt light would produce "fuller" trichs than a 1000watt light. If the lack of light is causing the trichs to fill out, then a plant grown under CFLs should have the "fullest" trichs because they were "lacking" light the entire grow. This just doesn't make sense.

If you are looking for that couch lock then wait till at least 50% trich are amber.....once they start turning cloudy theoretically you can harvest

Those leaves are very light, it looks like you didn't give it enough N during flower or veg too. Gotta fatten those stems early on by blowing with a fan all the time or just shaking the plant once a day.

Some plants just have thin stems. I have a couple of strains that will not get thick stems no matter what I do. I just stake them up early so I don't have to worry about it later.

Seems unusual, because almost any plant will grow in response to stress. Try pinching and rolling some stems on those strains and see what happens, massive growth will result. This is the idea behind SC. If you don't take extra steps to thicken the stems, then indoor growing will usually have to be staked, but take those same strains outdoors where the wind blows all the time and there should be a difference. What strains are you talking about?
