Right on! Roots showing is a good thing. It will focus most of energy growing a root network over the next few days to a week, it'll happen surprisingly quickly. Then you'll notice the plant beginning to grow, and then you can begin adding a little bit more juice. I found a "generalized" nute chart here on RIU, I'll pass it along. It's pretty close, enough that I've had little problem while using it. I do believe the higher end of the bloom nutes to be too high, though it may be based on a full grown plant that vegged for many weeks instead of just three or four. I dunno
View attachment 2495284 Your ppm's will likely fluctuate from time to time, Really helps to keep daily notes, so you can compare readings daily. When she takes off veggin', she'll start taking more solution- up to 1/2 gal or more a day! And these 3 things will occur-
(1) You've set the ppm (we'll say @ 500) and ph'd to 5.8-5.9- (sweet spot). You check the next morning (I do all mine in the morning) and the ppm's have climbed to 540, and ph drops to 5.6. That only means she drank some without taking in many/any nutes. Add only ph'd water to bring your ppm back down to around 500 again.
(2) You check the next morning and ppm's are 475 and ph has gone up to 6.0. She sucked up more nutes than water, so mix your solution to 500, adj. the ph, add to your rez. Then ph check and adjust rez. If it does this for two or more days in a row, I might bump up 50 ppm.
(3) It sucks up water like no tomorrow, and nutrient and ph readings remain the same- that's your sweet spot! Mix your solution at the same levels top it off
It's all good, man. If it weren't for a
lot of help from the folks on here, I'd have been in way over my head from the beginning.
A lot of guys on here can be real dickheads! Several of the very good growers here are a little blunt and arrogant, but most all of the good ones will give you solid advice
