Hello everyone,

I have had my seeds placed in jiffy pellets since the start. They have cracked and showing a small white root (1-2mm). They are under 18:6 lighting (200w 6400K envirolite). The second day of light has passed and there are no signs of any sprout. Im worried. . .

Is this normal?
How often should I be watering them because they seem to dry out quickly.

They'll Be Fine Mate Dont Worry It Will Just Stop Them From Drying Out So easily when they sprout from under your pellets then tern your light on :)

It sounds pretty normal to me. Depending on the plants genetic vigor and how long the taproot is and how deep the beans are planted it can take a while for them to break the surface. I wouldn’t cut the light myself but that is only my opinion.

I have had cases where I have planted a number of popped beans and was very careful to make sure they were all planted at the same depth and some of them have broken the surface in two days and others in the same grow from the same pack of beans took two, three or four more days to break the surface. I never cut the light and I just gave them the same amount of water as the others.

Some are just a tad bit slower than others and you cannot rightly expect something to grow like Jack’s magic beans and turn into a beanstalk overnight. Just chill and most likely everything will be cool and the gang.

As for watering just keep things moist and that will be enough for now. You don’t want to kill them with kindness, which so many new or newer growers do or nearly do so very often.

Hey guys thanks for the replies. So what you guys think, should I leave the lights on or not? The root isnt very long at all (1-2mm).

on if the root is not exposed. off if it is.
Thanks for the advice. Im keeping the light on as the seeds are below the surface. Im spraying water every three hours, as the light dries the pellets out fast. Hoping i didnt give light too early.

Ok so my seeds have been sitting in the jiffy pellets for 48hours in a dark cupboard. There are roots visible in all 3 however no sprout (nothing risen from surface. Do i continue to wait or place them under light?
