ok heres the problem, its yellowing on some of the new growth down the bottom, it really doesnt look like a nute problem to me, its not happing to the new growth on the main stem, all the fan leaves are fine with the exception of some loking like they were pinched, but that was because they were in a smal grow space, sorry about the photos they are with my phone....any ideas would be much appreciated, thanks

  • the temp and humidity is in the range
  • i am using a slow release fertiliser which still has a bit left( i always flush a couple of weeks early and start my own nutes)
  • they have been on 12/12 for about a week
  • they are under a 600w HPS
  • i only water when the pot is light..
anything other info you want let me know,

I have to say I can't tell anything appart because of the HPS. Do another round of pics with the lamp off and a normal light on.

ill take them out for a minute, ill also get a ph read, i took one the other day it was in the 6-6.5 region,

there isnt enough light getting down there.
either lst the plant to let light penetrate or just cut new growth.

Could be that the lower growth is being partially shaded, and too far from the light.

I would prune that growth anyways, because all you'll produce is junk down there, and the plants energy will go to producing tops.

ok heres some better pics, after i took them i lst'd it, i checked the ph and its fine anyway


and its not uniform either, theres growth thats very shaded and darker than stuff in full light


new tent.... bad room syndrome?

the soil has slow release fert in it, im going to fush in the next couple of days and start with other nutes, i had a look and the slow release balls are still intact, could it need extra food?.... ive never had to suppliment it before with this potting mix, not until i gave it a good flush....

Before we get into this I want you to check a couple things, check the following things:
  • Plants have plenty of water
  • Soil is seven PH or even a little less
  • Your light cycles are correct
  • No pools of water
  • Constant fresh air
Now thats out of the way let Mr. Ganja God diagnose your plant

Bigger leaves are turning a yellowish color while the smaller leaves are green.
  • Nitrogen deficiency - add nitrate of soda or organic fertilizer.
Older leaves will curl at edges, turn dark, possibly with a purple cast.
  • Phosphorous deficiency - add commercial phosphate.
Mature leaves develop a yellowish cast to least veinal areas.
  • Magnesium deficiency - add commercial fertilizer with a magnesium content.
Mature leaves turn yellow and then become spotted with edge areas
turning dark gray.
  • Potassium deficiency - add muriate of potash.
Cracked stems, no healthy support tissue.
  • Boron deficiency -add any plant food containing boron.
Small wrinkled leaves with yellowish vein systems.
  • Zinc deficiency - add commercial plant food containing zinc.
Young leaves become deformed, possibly yellowing.
  • Molybedum deficiency - use any plant food with a bit of molybdenum in it.

Which leaves began to turn pale and then brown first? The ones on the bottom? In the middle? On the top? Or all over at the same general time? (hopefully not because it was not spotted until it became more advanced.) After first spotted where did it travel next, up or down?

For starters it looks nute burnt.

You are telling us things are in range.....how about telling us what "your" range is.

What is the actual PH, Temp, Humidity?

not a nute burn if what he says is correct that the yellowing started when he flushed that would mean that the nuts in the soil already where washed away and that his problem would be a deficiency as it does appear to be a Deficiency....! nitrogen and or magnesium although there are other variables i could be something else entirely

i would not ever use slow release soil though because i would rather know whats in the soil and not have to try to guess what nutes to add, slow release is a hard game to play, you dont know how much of what is being released and when or if its gone, you could get nute burn flush the thing and have it not make a bit of difference because the pellets keep releasing nutes

alright guys, im a n00b indoors but not at growing, ive read the FAQ a few times checked all the charts and had plenty of problems over the years but nothing like this thats why im posting, its not a burn(heat or nute) know what they look like, its not watering sched water when the pots get light, it doesnt looklike any nute deficency ive ever seen, dont have pools of water in my tent or anything silly like that

ph is 6.5
temps are between 20-28*C lights on about the 10*C at night
humidity is usually around 30

yes my light cycles are right, 12/12...
and i have a nice big fan and cooltube to cool and exchange air,

ive grown plants all my life and my mother studied horticulture and some botony so im not the average noob...

also the color change started on the tips of the new growth on the bottom 1/3 of the plant, there is no necrosis on the plant anywhere, its just yellowing
