Help on building LED light for 2x2 tent

Hi guys, I am looking into building my first light for a 2x2x4 grow tent. I don't know much about this so i've been reading alot. I've seen different set ups but i am unsure on how many watts i would need to run or weather to buy strips or COB. any Info would help thanks.

You can't go wrong with any of the major brand COBs or the newer strips like the Samsung 561's in those QB boards. If building or buying either of those techs 120-140w will be plenty in that space 30-35w/sq./ft.

Why don't you pay for advertising instead of cheating all the paying forum advertisers out of their hard earned dollars by selling this knockoff board with fake samsung diodes? It's against forum policy to advertise your product without paying to be an advertiser. Be legitimate. Pay for advertising, get real tests done on your boards and post real information about them. What's so hard about being honest?

The drive is a LSD Power 200w 1800mA model, similar to HLG-185h but meanwell didn't make a 200w 1750mA so I went with this.

The boards are sold by photon phantom. The Samsungs are nice but the build quality of the boards was questionable. Definitely horrible tolerances in the mounting hole as well as the middle board came with a curve. There was also some solder splashes. Here is the middle board and here are the outside boards.

Haven't seen many of the Photon Fantom boards actually in use. Hopefully they can get their QA in hand, because having more viable options is always a good thing.

The "A" meanwell drivers have a potentiometer built into them. They are dimable to 50%.

50w psf is too much for a cob or qb. 30 is a better number. 200w of cobb in a 2x2 ft sace is waaaaay too much. I run qb's, you don't need that many watts.

Just get 1 quantum board and run it at 150w. It will provide more than enough ppfd and it's very easy to set up. Most importantly, it's backed by a real company that provides great support.
