Help On Small Closet Grow Project

Hello there,

This is my first post and first of all i would like to say hi to all of you. So.. hi there

I would like to start a project from 0. I have no experience on indoor grow and very few experience on outdoor.

I would like to start my first one with about 2 to 4 plants in a very small space. 1, maybe 1.5m2 and 2m tall.
I want to build the closet from scratch but dont want to make a large one, like i said, 1.5x1.5x2
And if I'm going to grow only a few (max 4), then i want the very best there is to grow. So what strain do you recommend?
Is it possible to grow 4 plants on a 1.5m2?

Im in a quest for top quality but i dont want to get something under 400 grams of yield...
I dont really mind on the electrical bill, i just want to get the very best i can from the four or whatever is the best for the specified area...

I've done some research (on lights, SOG, ScrOG, strains, etc) but the more i see, the more i get confused.
So i've decided to get help from those who are more experienced.

And about the strain recommended, i would prefer sativa dominant if possible. Always had that platonic passion for the White Widow but never smoked it. Not sure if it fits me and my grow closet...

First off correct me if im wrong you basically have a 5x5x6 closet and are wanting to do 2-4 plants? im not good with meters.

Personally You could easily do 6-10 plants in a scrog and veg them 6-8 weeks under 2 400w cmh lights and then flip to 2 600w hps for flower.

And if you like widows then you should try Mr Nice Guy's Black widow its actually the original white widow just under a different name heres a link for you to look at https://www.cannabis-seeds-bank.co.uk/mr-nice-black-widow/prod_1200.html

I'd say go with a double decker sog or scrog in a cabnit. You will get the most yield for the space you are using and if you do it right you can make it perpetual so you crop out every month.

If you went my route you would want indica dominant strains.

Asking for strain preference is like asking who is the best actress. Everybody has their favs. look on the seed sites. They have info. You should find something to your desires. Height, grow time,thc/cdb levels, etc. Might want to find some that are advertised as good for beginners. They tend to be more forgiving for us newbs. Also I would suggest you look into LED lighting if you haven't done so. There is a section here for LED lighting.

Yup, 5x5x6 +-= to 1x1x2 meters..

Thing is, I want to give the very best i can with that space to few plants.. Prob thinking wrong, but if we have 4 instead of 10 on the same 5x5x6 then they will be more healthier.
About the strains, I've only smoked street stuff, bad quality but im sure i've tried indica and sativa and i deffinetly prefer the high from sativa, dont like the lazyness and sleepyness indica gives. That said, i want to choose the one who has the best high and yield.
Dont really mind the veg and flowering long time. Just want the very best there is to grow indoors on my small closet.

I just mentioned White Widows because of its fame and beautiful buds, they were the first ones i got when i've started searching for strains, then I saw they are very famous on Netherlands.... Never smoked it, would love to one day..

Is it possible to do double decker with only 2 meters tall?
Man you put me dreaming with the perpetual part. I've been reading some stuff about cloning too. To do that, i would have to need a mother, a small place for the germination, a veg stage place and a flowering stage place right? Do you know any tutorials out there you could send to me?
Would be grateful.

What i've been reading about lights is that HPS is the best but its expensive at the end of the month and that leds besides the first investment, will spare the electrical bill and will be most economic at the long term.
What's the best for the plants?

If you can only afford one light get a 400w HPS. But if you can spend a little extra money Metal Halide is better than HPS for Vegetative growth. In an ideal set-up, you would want two different lights, a Metal Halide light for vegetative growth, and a High Pressure Sodium light for flowering. Or if you have the room a third group of CFL's for tiny seedlings up to maybe 3 weeks.

If you are really trying to go cheap (but still a good option), you could get two sets of CFLs, one set of Daylight 6500k for Veg, and another set of Soft White 2700k for Flowering.

Also don't forget the Mylar. Whatever light set-up you go with surrounding your walls in this will make everything much better.

Hey mate, in that space I would probably suggest running one 600w HPS with an air cooled hood.

Check the odour control thread for cheap and easy carbon filters ( about 10 bucks ) that you can fix to the intake of the hood to cut out any smell.

Just be careful of heat because you ideally want to keep temps below 32 C.

I am setting a smaller cupboard grow up at the moment and getting around the heat problem is my biggest issue.

Are you looking at growing Hydro or in soil for a start?

You might also want to try an Indica dominant strain like MrMcFreely suggested. Yea, preference and all that, but with the space you have and the experience you have (much like myself), an Indica like Northern Lights would be great for your first indoor grow.

and also making a second cupboard is a great idea for making it perpetual, then you can have your larger space on 12/12 always and veg in the smaller area.

I got a 150 watt MH setup off ebay for 65 bucks that would be great for a smaller veg space.

This is my project at the moment.
Not sure what is the most optimal and economical places to put things but you get an idea. Anyway, not sure if i will need the mother and germination zone..
A nice thing to do is to plant 4 different strains and make sort of a private collection of weed. Mannnn i love this idea

4 plants, 4 different strains, 2 different stages. plant 2 now and plant the other 2 when get into flowering or middle veg of the initial 2, same closet.

Overall I think you are on the right track but 2 meters is very tight to fit both a veg and flower chamber, especially if you are trying to get 400+ grams. You are gonna want AT LEAST 1.4 meters of vertical space within each chamber. Do you have enough room to put the veg/flower chamber next to eachother rather than on top of eachother? And instead of keeping mother plants I just clone each strain right before I put it into flower. I like this method because it makes things more simple...remember K.I.S.S.

I don't have a germination zone either, like I said if you take clones and then put the plants into the flower chamber you can just put the newly taken clones into the veg chamber, make sure you put the clones in indirect light if you have a High Intensity Discharge light though. And as far as high grade sativa hybrids I would recommend Jilly Bean, Original Amnesia by Dinafem (highly recommended, very similar to Blue Dream but IMO better), Delahaze, and Sensi Star. Sensi Star is a super-crystalized kush plant with a sativa edge.

TY so much. Currently finishing watching it and already have so many questions.
Prob still a little high from the last time i got high, but it seemed like the vid start repeating itself at the middle.

Here are some:
- does the area per plant varies on strains? It probably does if comparing indica to sativa, but what if i put 2 sativas from different strains getting the same conditions?
-whats the perfect mesures of a closet to fit two plants? Give any exemple of a known string and its perfect mesures please.. (remember not only the plants included, gotta get space for the lights, etc..)
