Good luck man, lil bastards are a chore. Thanks for all the replies!!
Sorry been away for a while.....
After the last infestation I had, it made me realise the importance of a clean, sterile grow room/s.
I noticed in my passive intake, there was a small piece of netting that had come away.
Maybe they got through this small gap or possibly on my clothing??
Have used a product called kill a mite.
Supposedly kills mites and eggs in one spray!? They do however recommend spraying again 5 days later, which I have not long done.
And all traces of mites and eggs are gone. Or so it seems for now
I’ve fixed the small gap in the netting,
have sprayed all my equipment down in veg room with a light bleach/water solution and have ripped up the old floating floor boards and underlay (not the best flooring for a veg room haha) and now have only concrete flooring.
I am currently in the process of building a decent garage, so I think I’ll grow/flower this lot out and start again from seed....
Just to be safe.
This product seems really good compared with other neem oils etc I have used in the past. Fairly stress free on the plants but time will tell how effective it is I suppose haha.
Thanks again for all your help!
Hydro.
Thanks myke,Full dunk has to be the best, trim plants back and dunk upside down.Drown the basturds!5~10 gallons whatever it takes.Repeat every 3 days.
Hey Macsnax! How you been?Good luck man, lil bastards are a chore.
Funny you say that Myke, I also do this with the odd res change. Use chlorinated water if roots are starting to turn a light brown. I know for a fact it prevents root rot. But kills all the beneficials at the same time...... good stuff to kill nasties without harming the ladies too much!I’ve read people having success with dunking in there pools. The chlorine kills them. Some have done it for over 45 minutes without harm to the plant.
I showed them a picture of your mom and after that they never reproduced againANYONE THAT HAS HAD SPIDERMITES AND ERADICATED THEM, PLEASE HELP!
This is a cry of a desperate man.
I have just discovered while cloning in my veg room that I have spider mites
These little bastards are my worst fear as I have had them before and after a 6 month battle of getting no where, I ended up culling my perpetual grow, removing any food source and disinfecting both grow rooms, all my equipment, floors, walls etc. and waiting a week before starting all over from seed!
I found rotating through different oils would keep them at bay but never eradicate them. using neem oil, then 2 or 3 days later, white oil, then throw in a hit of perythrium another 2 or 3 days later......
I really don’t want a long standing battle with these guys lol.
Has anyone become victorious over spider mites? And if so, what was your method??
Thanks in advance!!
HahahaI showed them a picture of your mom and after that they never reproduced again
Doing good brotha, rooting for you here with the mites. I know what it's like, keep us updated. Dunking like you mention should work, just remember that they're probably in your media, on the floor, etc. I'd give everything a thorough killing, lol.Hey Macsnax! How you been?
Yes they are! Just when everything was going sooo well haha. All part of it I suppose
Good stuff man!!Doing good brotha, rooting for you here with the mites. I know what it's like, keep us updated. Dunking like you mention should work, just remember that they're probably in your media, on the floor, etc. I'd give everything a thorough killing, lol.
I use ladybugs, i don't usually have them on flowering plants because they get stuck, lol. But I just added some to a batch of flowering plants, I found a couple thrips. My veg plants always have ladybugs though. I make diy food for them, a goggle search will show you lots of household items that you can concoct for their food. The thrips wouldn't have happened, but I left town for a week and knew I needed to order more ladybugs, I got complacent on my IPM. Lol. With the ladybugs if I get bugs, anymore it's my fault.Does anyone use anything as a preventative? (Other than keeping a clean, sterile environment)
Like mighty wash?? Companion plants? Spraying a bit of citronella?
I agree. I would never use Sevin on anything. It's hell on pollinators too.I didn't think that had a good reputation for using on ingestible vegetative things humans would be consuming?
